Tennessee-Penn State Hail Mary Haiku
Update [2006-12-31 17:24:59 by Joel]: Last day to enter the Outback Bowl Hail Mary Haiku.
Update [2006-12-27 11:22:43 by Joel]: Bumped to the top for game week.
It's the season finale of the Rocky Top Talk Hail Mary Haiku!
I want to send out a special invitation to PSU fans to play along. (Check out the Tennessee-LSU Hail Mary Haiku to see how that game's contest played out.) Volunteer fans, show 'em how it's done.
Here's the concept for new players who want to get in the game: You're behind by a touchdown or more at midfield. Only one second remains on the clock, and you have to heave the ball into a mass of players in the end zone and hope that one of your guys comes down with it. Oh, and bonus points for actually observing the traditional 5-7-5 format for haikus. Free form haikus are allowed, though. This is, after all, a desperation play.
I'll post the entries and open up the voting through the poll box on the right sidebar for the best entries in a week, maybe two. Voting will continue through game day, and the winner will be posted soon after the game. The winner gets . . . the satisfaction of having finished the season well.
Hike! Ooooh!
Enter yours below, and pass the invitation to enter along to others. I'll post mine below later.

Yeah, I agree.
Coming from a guy named Billy Bob. And a Penn State fan, apparently!
All sorts of contrasts and ironies.

As always, tardy to the party,
Orange down JoePa's throat
just like his daily servings
of metamucil.
