Tennessee v. Oklahoma State game day open thread

The basketball Vols travel to Nashville to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys tonight at 7:00 EST.  ESPN2 has the telecast.

I don't think I'll be opening a Skype public chat for this one, as I'll be multi-tasking and I don't want Barry W. to be all by himself in there. I will be checking in with the comment section periodically, though, so leave your comments below.

Go Vols!

YEAH!!!!
And Okie State is no longer unbeaten!! I LOVE Bruce Pearl, and all the kids. What an effort. Great defense at the end and heart, heart, heart!!! Way to go kids.

I know this wasn't suppposed to be an open forum but I had to say something. Great win for our team. Incredible confidence booster. Terrific team effort and... glimpse of things to come? Yeah baby,  GO VOLS!!!!!

Maybe...
... now we can get some attention along with LSU, FLA, USC, and everybody else that seems to be dominating the talk about the SEC.

Wasn't our best shooting game, Chris Lofton struggled but our depth and heart got it done and if that's what we gotta ride then so be it. Maybe once we take it to Texas, AGAIN, we'll get noticed. LOVING the freshmen, which is my next point. We're going to be around for a long time and I can't wait for men's basketball to be spoken about in the same breath with our football and women's basketball (even though nobody knows that our men's tennis team might win the conference this year, and baseball, women's golf, men's golf, etc...). It's a good time to be a Tennessee Vol!!!

Does anybody know...
...who the color man was for the game? I've got two sick kids, so I wasn't paying much attention to the announcers, but I did hear the color man give Dane Bradshaw what will be my new nickname for him...The Blender. I'd at least like to give the guy credit for it.

Wow
Wow.  Wow.  Just finished up late . . . lovin' the Tivo.

About midway through the second half, I was ready to call the play of the game JaJuan Smith forgoing the dunk for a little layup -- fun stuff.  But man, toward the end it was one highlight after the other.

Like Pearl said, a complete team effort.  Excellent game.  Loving the team.

The color guy was Jimmy Dice or Dyce or something like that.  I only remember b/c that was the name of my next door neighbor in grade school.  We conned him into jumping off a tree stump, and his boots lost traction and he did a flip, landed on his head or something.  Not the same guy, I'd wager. Can't find any info on him, but I'm with Corn, I like The Blender.

Bradshaw, The Blender.
Lofton, The Discombobulator.

Who's next?

Maaaaaaan...
I can never remember these live-blog things.  But yeah, I caught the game on the Duce (in HD, I may add).  It certainly wasn't our best effort, but man did we show some heart and some guts.  I really like what Coach Pearl has instilled in our boys...that the game is never over until it's over and to leave everything they've got on the court.

Bravo!

Texas
I've been told that the best way to get somebody to show up is to put them in charge.

So Aerobab, you're in charge for Texas. I'll be on the interstate somewhere in IN, IL, WI, or MN around game time. I'd bet that XRayVol will be there to assist. Should be a good game.

This Saturday, 12/23/06 at noon EST on ESPN.

I'll be checking up on you when I regain access.

;-)

The Blender...
... Yeah, that's good. The color guy also said that Bradshaw's MRI really stood for My Rebound Inside, which I though was pretty clever as well. Didn't have much trouble lifting the arm for that one.
