Animated Drive Chart: BCS National Championship Game, Florida Gators demoralize Ohio State Buckeyes

Well look at all the pretty scarlet-segmented lines! What is that? Oh, yes, a total of 82 yards of offense for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Florida spotted 'em seven out of the gate, and then absolutely annihilated them, divesting Troy Smith's offense of its potency and the OSU defense of its self-esteem along the way.

Click on the graphic below to witness a moving summary of the demoralization.

As always, great chart!
Love those drive charts...you must be getting pretty good at putting them together!
Quick question, will Andy be continuing Corn from a Jar...or just focusing on RTT?  Selfishly hoping the latter, would like to set my favorites a little more selectively!

Thanks
I'm hoping to dramatically improve the drive charts for next year. We'll see how it goes. I just about drove myself and my wife nuts trying to learn the Flash and XML last off-season.

I'll let Andy answer your question.

Go Vols!

I'll ask again
You sure you don't want to add Powerpoint to your repertoire?  I sure could use it...will pay for the coaching!
Just kidding...I'm about to lay this one on my 14 year old daughter...she has to use powerpoint in middle school so I think if I can just get around those stupid child labor laws, I may be on to something!

Actually . . .
I used to love PowerPoint, back before it hit critical mass. I used it for several college and one law school presentation, synched it up with music and some graphics, and voila! A pre-packaged presentation -- and I didn't even have to open my mouth. Of course, some of the other students mildly objected (one was Todd Smith of the group Selah, by the way (an absolutely fantastic singer)), but the profs loved it, so I slid by.

The real harm in PP is not having to use it, but having to watch someone who can barely turn on their computer use it. I'd rather listen to Vogon poetry.

Go Vols!

The plan is...
I'll do one more post at CFAJ, basically I need to write some sort of farewell and let people who happen across the site as it is sits on the interweb gathering dust where to get their Tennessee bloggin' fix.

I'll still be doing the Fanhouse stuff, too, so trying to maintain three blogs would be redundant and incredibly time consuming.

In other words, I'm not just sleeping on the couch; I'm taking over a bedroom here.

The 1970 game between Alabama and USC has been heralded by many (usually Trojan fans) as the contest which lead to the integration of Crimson Tide football. It's nonsense, of course, but that hasn't stopped that version of the story from spreading by West Coast revisionists.

One reasons Tennessee fans should be disappointed with this sloppy telling of history is that it almost completely discounts a historic game involving the Vols a year earlier.

In 1969, Lester McClain and Jackie Walker (pictured above) started in the Third Saturday in October game and broke the color line at Birmingham's Legion Field (a third black player, Andy Bennett, got into the game as well). Not only that, the Vols handed Bear Bryant's Tide team a 41-14 beatdown that afternoon.

I tell a bit of the tale at Roll Bama Roll today in my scathing review of a book about the 1970 Alabama vs. USC game, One Night, Two Teams.
