Talking Points: McFadden, McFadden, McFadden . . . Stoerner edition

It's Arkansas week, and while it's all Darren McFadden all the time everywhere else, Ghost of Neyland decided instead to hunt down Friend of Volunteers Clint Stoerner to see what he's been up to. Ghost finds that Stoerner's living a seedy life and subject to taunts from Chinese shopkeepers. Okay, probably not true. But funny. McMore on McFadden later.
The basketball Vols completed their exhibition season by pounding Lincoln Memorial 124-61. They may as well have been playing the Daves from Lincoln Financial. By the way, Chris Lofton has been named to the AP Preseason All-America first team along with North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough, Georgetown's Roy Hibbert, Michigan State's Drew Neitzel, and UCLA's Darren Collison. And did you know that the Vols have the sixth best odds of any team in the country of winning a national championship? According to Mark Packer, "The Vols odds are 12 to 1 of winning it all this year. The only teams with better odds are North Carolina, UCLA, Memphis, Kansas and Louisville. Teams below the Vols are Georgetown at 15 to 1, Duke at 18 to 1, Arizona at 20 to 1, Kentucky at 25 to 1 and Florida at 75 to 1."

Sophomore defensive tackle Chase Nelson will miss the remainder of the season after having surgery to correct a right wrist dislocation.

-Of course it's all D-Mac, all the time. D-Mac sounds like a new burger at McDonald's maybe the Arkansas area McDonald's can introduce that. Man is McFadden awesome, let me tell you what. He's on ESPN, he gets to show off his pimped out ride, he gets courted by the Queen of England, well not yet at least. Yeah D-Mac, oh wait, his team is in 4th place in the SEC West? Nevermind

-Did the BasketVols play a high school team? That's what Lincoln Memorial sounds like. Oh yeah, Chris Lofton is really that good! And oh yeah, so is the rest of the team

-One question for Arian's mother, can you please smack your son the next time he thinks a 4th Quarter fumble would help the team?

-After the way this season has gone, it feels like there is no hope and that we're just really bad, but then I look at the standings and realize, if we win out we're in the SEC championship game and can potentially get to do to LSU what they did to us in 2001, which would be freaking awesome! It's been a weird season like that, but then again, when you lose games as big as we lose games, it'll tend to get you thinking like that.

Is CBS serious?

CBS is not seriously showing an LSU BLOWOUT of Ole' Miss instead of the game that has the possibility, at this point, to help determine the East champion?

Is it just me or is every media outlet in the country oblivious to the fact that we're, at this point, in control of the East and that every game we play from here on out is a conference decider?

No respect. Makes me sick!
