Love to see the underclassmen

That's a lot of freshmen and sophomores getting the hardware. That might be useful for the end of recruiting season, but it is certainly promising for the future either way.

New award for Berry: Most idolized freshman to never be covered by the national news.

Had to chuckle at this line from the linked article for Parker, Mayo, and Hefney:

"Berry, Hefney's freshman safety sidekick, ..."

Somehow, referring to Berry as Hefney's sidekick just seems wrong.

It's been tossed around the Ebays that Hefney's awards this year have been based off of, well, anything except for this year's performance. Admitedly, I've been critical of Hef all season long as one of the most over-rated players in the NCAA. Yeah, he made some gnarly hits on opponents, but for every cranium-jarring, wood-laying hit, he totally whiffed on 3 or 4 others. If he'd only wrap the guys up instead of going for the ESPN highlight reel, he probably could have put up some impressive numbers. Similarly, his pass coverage was (and still is) just plain awful.

While he was no Reggie Nelson this year, I still congratulate him on the award/recognition of the SEC coaches.
