| 10 | Penn State | 16 |
| 11 | Ohio State | 15 |
| 12 | Florida | 14 |

| 14 | Arkansas | 12 |
| 15 | Tennessee | 11 |
| 16 | Georgia | 10 |
| 17 | South Carolina | 9 |
| 18 | Auburn | 8 |

I had a pretty thorough explanation of why and how the ballot changed from the rough draft, and then Firefox crashed on me and I lost it. I'll get that redone soon and put it in the comments, but in the meantime check out the Preseason Blogpoll at MGo.

Splainin'
- I moved Va. Tech up quite a bit. VT will be under incredible scrutiny this season as everywhere they go reporters will want to ask about the massacre. I think the emotional/psychological toll of carrying that around all year will wear on the Hokies and they'll falter around mid- to late-October (that's just a guess). However, there's probably not a more dangerous team to have to play early in the year because they will be so emotionally charged -- In fact, I nearly voted them #1, but talked myself down from that ledge.
(BTW, I know all this talk about emotion is a violation of Proposal #8 of the College Football Blogging Best Practice as set forth by the Swindle-Bean partnership, and I hereby fine myself ONE HUNDRED COCKTAILS for my transgression.)
- In a compromise between the advice of Areobab and The Power T; Penn State stays in the top ten but just barely.
- The thing I'm most unhappy with (for the record, I've never been really happy with any Blogpoll ballot I've submitted) is that I'm hedging my bets by lumping conference teams together and hiding SEC teams in the middle of the poll to hide my actual homerism. We've got one more vote before the season kicks off -- Brian wants to know who's overrated and who's underrated -- and I could use some help with separating the groups, especially the SEC and Big Ten ones.
