Tennessee defensive end Xavier Mitchell feels just fine after last weekend's scare at Cal. Mitchell was immobilized and carted off the field late in the fourth quarter after running into Eric Berry while trying to assist on a tackle. He lay motionless on the turf for the better part of five minutes, and the t.v. announcers reported that he was unable to move his limbs when asked to try. When he was being transported off the field, he was moving his left hand, but so was Inky Johnson last year.
Mitchell, however, only suffered a concussion, and he's recovering quite nicely. He has not yet been cleared to play this weekend against Southern Miss. This is his third concussion, the second coming just a month ago in a scrimmage.
