Tennessee-Southern Miss Game Day open thread

Today's uh-oh stat

Premise No. 1: Southern Miss' Damion Fletcher is very good. He rushed for 89 yards against eventual national champion Florida last year. I shouldn't have to remind Tennessee fans that our running backs had negative yardage against the Gators last year.

Premise No. 2: We have not yet shown that we can stop the run. Last weekend against Cal, defensive linemen J.T. Mapu, Walter Fisher, and Xavier Mitchell each had one tackle. To put that into perspective, kickers Daniel Lincoln and Chad Cunningham also each had one.

Conclusion: If we don't do a better job of stopping the run this week, we will be carrion for Damion Fletcher and the Golden Eagles.

I'll be heading down to Knoxville for the game in just a few minutes, so someone else will have to drive the comment section. I might be able yell some stuff from the back seat by phone, but who knows.

Look OLD SMOKEY gonna put his neck out on the chopping block this week by saying that the Big Orange will pluck the BUZZARDS big. My ole tail bone is still sore from last week, and the coaches have kicking enough tails around here this week that we should see better results. Meanwhile...

My alma mater, Colorado State, has rushed for 90 yards against Cal... in the FIRST quarter. They've also led against Cal, which we never did, and they don't punt to DeSean Jackson, but they also give up big plays to him in the form of 73 yard rushes for TD's. Does this mean CSU is better than UT?
