....It's gonna

be okay!!!! I was going to do the whole orange shirt, khaki shorts thing today but I’m ditching the pants for the GREEN ATHLETIC SHORTS!!! My new lucky shorts!!!

Why lucky you ask?

Because A. they are green and B. I found a ten dollar bill in them this morning in the laundry!!!

HECK FIRE YES! I will rock these green shorts no matter how awkward its going to be watching the game with other much more nicely attired orange people. I don’t care if they think I look like I just rolled out of bed. Its because of these green shorts, that we are goin to rock a DUBBYA in Athens!

It’s all connected, my friends…..

Someday we'll look back on this and plow into a parked car.

by MeytonPanning on Oct 11, 2008 12:18 PM CDT   0 recs

I shaved the night before our 3 losses. I did not shave the night before our two wins. I did not shave last night.

Between your shorts and my 5 o’clock shadow, I’m pretty sure we can already consider this game won.

Best Laundry Day Ever
It’s a sign!!!!!!

Awkward
Seriously though. It’s time to put your pants back on…

Someday we'll look back on this and plow into a parked car.

Hmmmm...

So are you making the dog wear the shorts?

by lawvol98 on Oct 11, 2008 1:19 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Our alumni association...

has rented out the ESPN Zone at Disneyland for the game. This is somehow gonna end in disaster, but I’m going anyhow. GOVAWLS!!

I will give my shirt for Tennessee today.

I'm in a different shirt today

Not usually superstitious, but foregoing the solid orange growling Smokey for a subdued navy blue with orange lettering. Haven’t found any money yet in the seams, though.

Go Vols!

by Joel on Oct 11, 2008 1:39 PM CDT   0 recs

All right.

Any Final Thoughts from the collective Brain trust?

by lawvol98 on Oct 11, 2008 2:17 PM CDT   0 recs

Do what UCLA did to us.

Hang in the game during the first half – don’t let it get out of hand early.

Hold TOP in the second half and have the game decided at the end.

by hooper on Oct 11, 2008 2:24 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

But without the 4 ints

Let’s not chance that.

Deferring is for p_ssies. Make a decision!

by wvvol on Oct 11, 2008 2:29 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Yeah.

That part was kinda our fault.

by hooper on Oct 11, 2008 2:33 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Texas is going to win

Up ten with the ball, a bit over two minutes left.

Go Vols!

by Joel on Oct 11, 2008 2:28 PM CDT   0 recs

That's a new intro

No words at all. Kind of like the change.

Go Vols!

by Joel on Oct 11, 2008 2:30 PM CDT   0 recs

Beurlein (sp?) is an idiot

Count how many “Mike” Richts he uses today.

Deferring is for p_ssies. Make a decision!

by wvvol on Oct 11, 2008 2:34 PM CDT   0 recs

Their voices comfort me, though

Reminds me of Kentucky last year.

Go Vols!

by Joel on Oct 11, 2008 2:35 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I like that

Nice start. Mid-length pass to No. 4.

Go Vols!

by Joel on Oct 11, 2008 2:36 PM CDT   0 recs

Woohoo! A completed pass

down the field.

Deferring is for p_ssies. Make a decision!

by wvvol on Oct 11, 2008 2:36 PM CDT   0 recs

Ohh, bad.

If a 3-man rush gets to the QB that quickly, there’s a big problem.

by hooper on Oct 11, 2008 2:38 PM CDT   0 recs

Oh well. Let's not forget the run.

Running the ball quiets the home crowd.

Deferring is for p_ssies. Make a decision!

by wvvol on Oct 11, 2008 2:39 PM CDT   0 recs

That's the joy of my job

All cases tried to a judge — no used car salesman pitch to a jury.

At the office watching on the web at present.

by lawvol98 on Oct 11, 2008 2:43 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

That is nice

But shame on you.

For being at the office. ;-)

Go Vols!

by Joel on Oct 11, 2008 2:44 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Moreno's limpin

Attack that foot!

Deferring is for p_ssies. Make a decision!

by wvvol on Oct 11, 2008 2:43 PM CDT   0 recs

damn, his shoe came off

never mind.

Deferring is for p_ssies. Make a decision!

by wvvol on Oct 11, 2008 2:43 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

These two talk too much

I miss Verne

Deferring is for p_ssies. Make a decision!

by wvvol on Oct 11, 2008 2:46 PM CDT   0 recs

It's the new generation of announcers.

I’ll be nice and omit the screed for now.

by hooper on Oct 11, 2008 2:46 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

No kidding

And don’t you just want to pinch Verne’s cheeks?

by lawvol98 on Oct 11, 2008 2:46 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Me, too

Danielson, not so much. He’s good, but he’s too honest, and I don’t really want honesty this season. ;-)

Go Vols!

by Joel on Oct 11, 2008 2:47 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

These two are a "cliche-a-minute"

Deferring is for p_ssies. Make a decision!

by wvvol on Oct 11, 2008 2:48 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Would that be

a New York Minute?

Go Vols!

by Joel on Oct 11, 2008 2:50 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Stafford's just a bit off

on his throws. If he’d hit them in stride, we’d really be in trouble.

Go Vols!

by Joel on Oct 11, 2008 2:49 PM CDT   0 recs

Wow.

They were just waiting for a Georgia flag to show that graphic.

by hooper on Oct 11, 2008 2:50 PM CDT   0 recs

I'm watching!!!

Can’t believe it – used a hack, and now watching the game on the internet. It’s probably a bit dodgy, and it’s really slow, but wow!!!

(I live in the UK, CBS internet only available in the US, usually have to listen to audio)

by The Vol Abroad on Oct 11, 2008 2:53 PM CDT   0 recs

Congratulations

Here’s to hoping you like what you see!

Go Vols!

by Joel on Oct 11, 2008 2:54 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

argghhh

jinxed myself…went out… just came back and I really don’t like what I see

by The Vol Abroad on Oct 11, 2008 2:57 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Why do they need 5 "experts" to provide commentary for NFL games?

It’s not a matter of addition by addition.

by hooper on Oct 11, 2008 2:54 PM CDT   0 recs

Defense seems a bit out of sync

Which is actually one thing we’ve been decent on… (sigh)

by lawvol98 on Oct 11, 2008 2:55 PM CDT   0 recs

Let em

get into a rhythm. Didnt they start out slow against Auburn too?

by Muhler on Oct 11, 2008 2:56 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Give that kicker props.

The UGA kickoff guy is placing those very well.

by hooper on Oct 11, 2008 2:55 PM CDT   0 recs

He's a weapon

Deferring is for p_ssies. Make a decision!

by wvvol on Oct 11, 2008 2:56 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Hardesty.

Nice run.

by hooper on Oct 11, 2008 2:56 PM CDT   0 recs

No. 2

Yes. Looked good.

Go Vols!

by Joel on Oct 11, 2008 2:56 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Finally...

Hardesty!!

by ChattVol on Oct 11, 2008 2:56 PM CDT   0 recs

hmmm

lag must be big since we haven’t started back on the stream

by lawvol98 on Oct 11, 2008 2:57 PM CDT   0 recs

3 and out

1 run for 7 then 2 incomplete passes.

Deferring is for p_ssies. Make a decision!

by wvvol on Oct 11, 2008 2:58 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

2nd and 3....

Two passes? He’s never had an SEC start. Why kill his confidence so early?

by ChattVol on Oct 11, 2008 2:58 PM CDT   0 recs

I get the feeling that Stephens is pretty resilient, mental-wise.

Besides, we have to break Georgia of the habit of cramming the box if we’re going to have any kind of offense.

by hooper on Oct 11, 2008 2:59 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Exactly.

Run the ball again on 2nd and then pass on 3rd if necessary. Grind it out…

Deferring is for p_ssies. Make a decision!

by wvvol on Oct 11, 2008 2:59 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Because...

This is Tennessee. That’s how we roll…

by lawvol98 on Oct 11, 2008 3:00 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

To be fair

He’s only had one questionable pass so far. Give it time, I’m sure we’ll see plenty of bad playcalls before the game’s over.

by Graysnail on Oct 11, 2008 3:01 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Oh, I'm not criticizing Stephens...

Just think it would have been smarter to run…

by lawvol98 on Oct 11, 2008 3:02 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

at least

Colquitt can get some game practice

whoshotwhointhewhatnow?

by thetennesseethumper on Oct 11, 2008 2:58 PM CDT   0 recs

uga

will ride this mustang to victory. jeez….

whoshotwhointhewhatnow?

by thetennesseethumper on Oct 11, 2008 3:02 PM CDT   0 recs

Our GamePlan:

Wear out their offense by letting them advance nonstop.

by highlifeman on Oct 11, 2008 3:02 PM CDT   1 recs

Just not Morley

The announcers are talking about that “hit.” He used one shoulder.

Go Vols!

by Joel on Oct 11, 2008 3:03 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I thought he was trying to avoid the PI call, and delayed the hit a bit.
