Coach Spurrier or Coach Leach to Tennessee?

The thing is, Coach Fulmer has done an wonderful job here since he came .  I was at one of the last games that Coach Majors coached. I could feel the difference in the way people was down on him. me  One instance,  a large sign popped up a few rows in front of me saying "FIRE JOHNY !!". A woman came down from the rows behind me and I thought she was single handed going to whip all eight or more of them.  Things shouldn't be like that. It shouldn't be that way for Fulmer either.

We should be grateful that we had a coach that has spent as much time as Coach Fulmer, from a player to the road of becoming head coach at Tennessee. We will miss him.

All the same, I have over the last few years looked at the way the discipline, losses and attendance, to include students paying for their own tickets, and realized it is time to move forward.

If the University of Tennessee is making it harder for the average football fans to attend the games, they are going to have to pick up the tempo a little and make it more exiting and fun, sometimes traditional football needs some untraditional changes.

You used to see people wearing orange every time Tennessee football was being played, not any more. We need a spark. No we need an explosion to get the confidence and fun back into the fans. My pick would be Coach Spurrier -the coach everyone hates unless he is yours, or Coach Leach- the coach that may just be the most laid back, smart, and well rounded on offence and defense coach out there today.  (PLEASE NOTE, OTHER SCHOOLS COULD MAY BE TRYING TO RECRUIT COACH LEACH , SO DON'T WAIT TOO LATE). Both coaches would be worth putting more time in trying to get them here before we loose too many more of our incoming high school commitments or fans.  Thanks for reading.

I don’t think either one will be the head coach. I for one could never root for Steve Spurrier. I don’t see how any UT fan could. I can’t get quotes like “You can’t spell citrus without a U and a T” out of my head. Although clever and sort of amusing, not forgiveable.

Leach at Tennessee?

A very real possibility that Leach is using all this to extort more moolah out of TT and really has no intention of leaving. The Tech AD has said he will negotiate with Leach AFTER the season. If he wins the NC his value will skyrocket even more. So Hamilton better be ready with some serious cash if the decision is to go after Leach. I would love to have him at UT but…does he REALLY want to come here?

Others have given reasons why anyone in Texas would not come to Tennessee. Major one is recruiting — someone posted that he can follow and get enough talent left by Texas and other schools that Tech will rate highly just because there is SO much talent in Texas. Whereas anyone at Tennessee would have to recruit nationally to compete. Ask Fullmer, but I think that is a reasonable assumption.
