Youth Movement: Two Volunteers Named Freshmen Players of the Week

If I had more than 5 minutes available, I'd write up a post more fitting of this accomplishment.  Still, that shouldn't stop us from recognizing this.  --hooper

GLORY JOHNSON, SEC BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Woo! to the Lady Vols.  When you replace your entire starting lineup in one year, you have to hope for some new blood to assert itself early, and Glory Johnson has done just that.  The season is obviously extremely young, but this is very good news nonetheless.

SCOTTY HOPSON, SEC BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Woo! to the Man Vols.  The men's team did not have the complete makeover like the Lady Vols, but there were some key losses and a lot of new faces on the roster.  When you get a 1-and-done hopeful like Hopson on the team, you naturally hope he delivers big, and delivers soon.  Scotty has done just that.  Another excellent start for basketball, as UT completes the early 1-2 punch for freshmen, serving notice that basketball just might be around for a while.
