Come to find out, Tennessee quarterback Nick Stephens wasn't benched because of the interception he threw. He was benched because of his reaction to it.
. . . .
Following the loss, Stephens admitted he sulked in the seconds after the pick and didn't try hard enough to tackle Woodson.
"(Fulmer) calls it dirt kicking," Stephens said. "It was my reaction to the play that caused the consequences. He told me that and I agreed 100 percent. That will never happen again from me. You earn everything that comes to you and I earned that."

I can understand that too.
With this point, we’re at least looking at attempt to try and set standards of play. We’ll disagree on matters of degree, I’m sure, but at least this is something.
I’m now hoping that the coaches go ahead and treat the rest of the season like the beginning of spring camp for next season. I don’t necessarily mean they should bench all the seniors (no matter how much some people would like that), but I do think they should focus on getting next year’s players in line. There’s still a lot of talent on the team, but if the team is still making this many critical mistakes this late in the season, it’s safe to assume that the season is irrecoverable.
In the GVX article that contained the same point as the ‘Post above, Foster was adamant that the problem was with the players, not the gameplan. If so, let’s focus on fixing the players, even if the gameplan has to stand aside for a bit. I’m ok with fitting the next three games with training wheels.
Criticism not retracted.
For one series, fine. Let him get his head together. But to keep a demonstrably bad Crompton in for the rest of the quarter? Yiiiiikes.

Exactly
Why punish the team and all it’s supporters by inserting the Mountain Moron? Line up without a QB or put BJ Coleman in.

This does tell us one thing:
Clawson has at least enough control over the offense to pull a player if he wants to. For a team that never really lets us know who has what responsibility (staff-wise), this is at least something.
