Interesting fact: if you look at the word "hoya" and go "huh?" you'd be right. The word means "what," according to the infallible Wikipedia.
Leave your pre-, in-, and post-game thoughts below. I'll be at work, slaving away, while y'all are watching basketball. Nice.
Go Vols! Hulk smash cutesy-wutesy wittle puppy with meanie-weanie collar!

well, they are 16th according to ESPN ...
but in their preview of the game they list the Hoyas at 21st.

We need an uptempo game today
Georgetown will grind it out on defense. This is a serious style clash.
Two turnovers for G'Town early
Offensive foul and a palm.

It's early yet
I’m not too discouraged about it.
by Chris Pendley on Nov 28, 2008 1:10 PM EST up reply actions
Agreed
Hopefully they can settle in … silly foul by Chism
by bobo_the_vol on Nov 28, 2008 1:11 PM EST up reply actions
Apparently it's 14-6
Not sure I think that’s a three-point play, but whatever.
by Chris Pendley on Nov 28, 2008 1:11 PM EST up reply actions
Check that, 14-6
GTown at the line . . .
by bobo_the_vol on Nov 28, 2008 1:11 PM EST up reply actions
And another turnover by Georgetown
on the inbound

Georgetown
Saying they don’t appreciate the gift, another TO ..

Tennessee
Saying “No you!”
transistion basket + foul for Gtown after Smith’s turnover

Georgetown with another TO
I feel like I’m watching ACC football all of a sudden.
Hey, there’s the next UT turnover.
by Chris Pendley on Nov 28, 2008 1:17 PM EST up reply actions
and then deflected by Chism for a To
And then another on UT .. ungh!
by bobo_the_vol on Nov 28, 2008 1:19 PM EST up reply actions
Good hands on D from him, too.
Although what kind of defense are we playing? It looks like lazy man-to-man.
Kind of
But it looks like a 3-2 matchup instead of a 2-3.
by Chris Pendley on Nov 28, 2008 1:21 PM EST up reply actions
And Gtown gets a 3
CHISM WITH THE ANSWER
by bobo_the_vol on Nov 28, 2008 1:25 PM EST up reply actions
yeah
cuz we’ve never heard THAT before ;)
by bobo_the_vol on Nov 28, 2008 1:27 PM EST up reply actions
One of our interior defenders keeps on getting caught napping
And I think it’s Chism, but I’m not sure.
Our half-court defense
is GREAT right now
our transistion D .. is not.
We NEED to stop turning the ball over!!
Actually, transition defense is great
Transition offense is the pits.
by Chris Pendley on Nov 28, 2008 1:38 PM EST up reply actions
But G'Town is committing some dumb fouls.
This’ll help in the second half.
by Chris Pendley on Nov 28, 2008 1:50 PM EST up reply actions
Foul situation seems to favor Tennessee in the second half.
7 for UT, 10 for Georgie.
Also, Georgie has 9/10 fouls committed by starters (3 by Summers), while UT only has 3/7 by starters (though 2 by Chism and 2 by Williams).
So long as UT’s interior presence doesn’t get into too much trouble early, that should pay dividends in the long run.
nice to hear from you, Hoops
I agree, I’m looking for Georgetown to get worn out in the Second half, they are not as deep as us.
Also, I’ve liked our inside game so far, only two of Chism’s/William’s fouls have come inside (Williams had one on the outside and Chism had that OF)
Tennessee needs to stop turning the ball over, that’s what’s keeping GTown in this game.

I'm in and out for the half
but the comments really help fill in the story, so thank you.

If this was NBA Jam
The ball would be in flames whenever he had it.

Whenever you want to vent/celebrate/whatever, a Lane Kiffin discussion thread is now open.
[We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.]
Hey, guys
Looks like things are going well. I was just fixin’ to put something up on Kiffin and found I didn’t need to. But . . . what in the world is soze? You youngin’s and your slanging.
Go Vols!

The refs really bailed out that Georgetown guy
One of these refs is a Hoya Lover

Lookin good
The boys looked good today. I caught the game, but sadly missed ya’ll on here. It’s certainly a different team this year, but they’ve still got some big HUGE shoes to fill before I’ll say that they’re better.
Go Vols!
Big Win for the Vol Basketball Program
Soundly beating a perennial power like Georgetown warrants major respect.
