Enough of Memory Lane, It's time for VICTORY LANE!
Hi, RTT
Im new to the site, I am usually spending all my time over at MusicCityMiracles the Titans blog. However after the game last night I just thought that I would come make a few comments over here, and who knows may even stick around.
Fulmer is a great man and WAS a great Coach. We all knew it was time though. I think the saddest thing I have ever seen was Ali fighting past his prime! I am glad Coach Fulmer had the class to go out the way he did. Now enough of paying tributes to the past lets talk Vol future!
On ESPN.com today it is reported that Lane Kiffin will be bringing his father Monte Kiffin over to UT as D coordinator. This man is a defensive master mind! He invented what is known as the Tampa 2 defense. Hamilton said he wanted to make a splash with this signing and so far it looks like a tidal wave. Even Peyton himself was a fan of signing Kiffin, and signed off on the offer as an advisor. (ESPN.COM)
I dont think that I have ever been this excited about the hiring of a new head coach. Not even Bruce Pearl. Kiffin is a Great recruiter and rumor has it that the #1 QB in the nation who previously had only visited USC and was said to have already made up his mind will pay UT a visit in December soley on the fact that Kiffin was named Coach.
Coach K is going to bring the BIG name recruits with him, and the #6 Defense in the land just got an evil genius to lead them. Next year is going to be fun no doubt. I hope that the Crimson Tide and the Bullpuppy fans are taking notice!!!!

Welcome
Thanks for posting. I’m certainly warming up to the Kiffin hire, and if Peyton is behind it, who are we to argue? One lesson we learned this season, though, is that we will likely need to have some patience with the new regime. Everybody’s a rookie in a new system, and for most of the guys returning next year, that will be their third offensive scheme in three years. Hopefully, we can find a way to be both excited about the possibilities and patient while we wait for the results.
Go Vols!

Not so fast my friend
Kiffin is a pro style offense guy as was cutcliffe and Clawson. Not too much change in recognizing formations and schemes. Just going to be different verbage used in play calling I’m sure. I think we should be highly crititical of Kiffin. He’ll do well, I think he just needs to bust his A$$ to get blue chippers in the door. Players will relate better to him than they did with Fulmer, that could be the difference maker in some commits. We shall see!

As long as he doesn't move the offensive linemen around like Clawson did
That crap was destined for failure.

Evidence?
this is the second time I’ve heard about Matt Barkley visiting UT because of the Kiffin hire. I consider myself a cfb recruting nut and as a result I scour the web for recruiting information as well as rumors. Unfortunately, I’ve yet to see even a hint of this rumor on any of the recruiting sites. If you happen to read my reply, I would like to know where this rumor was originated or any other info you could give me to help support this claim. Barkley has been committed since early this year to USC. I just find it extremely difficult to believe he would waiver in his decision….go vols!!!
