Extrapolating this a bit:
Some reports say that Monte is not yet a done deal, while some reports say he is (albeit by sources). I would think that Lane has his defensive staff pretty well in place if he’s going to go ahead and release everybody like this. After all, the defensive side of the ball wasn’t broken; if Lane didn’t have a replacement yet, it wouldn’t do a lot of good to fire everybody this fast.
But again, that’s extrapolation.
