Confession time:
Who actually is getting this game on PPV? I’m listening online, but I’m trying to figure out who’s not on a delay this time around.
Me
Yep. Me. I’m watching on PPV.

Hey, if nobody watches the game it doesn't actually take up any bandwidth
There are enough randomly entertaining games on to keep my eyes entertained, at least.

I had no idea.
That’s what, 3 defensive TDs and a couple of field goals, right?

Heavy winds today
Sounds like a great reason to keep the ball on the ground. Wonder if this’ll only be a 2 1/2 hour game.
Creer is the starter?
Playing for the future, or did Arian Foster do something wrong? No fumble jokes please :)
Hey, I've got a great idea
Now that the season’s a total wash, why don’t we try something that might actually work like starting Lennon Creer!
What’s that? We ARE?

Crap stephens
We have more batted balls than anyone else.
Someone who knows more than me:
Who is to blame for this (usually)… the O-Line or the QB?
I think that that one
was both. He was in the QB’s face, I think, so (1) he shouldn’t have been there, and (2) Stephens shouldn’t have thrown it right into his extended hands.
If it’s at the line, I think that’s the line’s fault primarily.
Go Vols!
by Joel Hollingsworth on Nov 8, 2008 1:14 PM EST up reply actions 1 recs
It depends
The O-line needs to make sure the D-line isn’t in a position to bat the ball down, and the QB needs to get it to a spot where the D-line can’t get a hand on it.

hooper denies any knowledge of anyone picking Wyoming in a rout. He may be kicking himself now, though, after that WY pick and subsequent TD.

Thankfully, no.
But now Massaquoi is teaching our RBs, it seems.
by Chris Pendley on Nov 8, 2008 1:17 PM EST up reply actions
Either that, or...
…we get to see J-Cromp in the next series. Or did NS actually try to make a play?
It
It will be interesting to see how UT fares with having 1 back in for the entire game. I’m sure Poole will come in some, but for the most part we will be riding Creer.
Maybe it will allow the back and the O-line to develop a rhythm? Maybe not.
True
That will be interesting to watch.

I really should be there, but I just have too much to do this weekend. I’m a sorry excuse for a fan/student. This is my first game to miss all season though, so I’ll make myself feel better with that.

The field
I forget that many aren’t watching. Stephens and the receiver miscommunicated, and the camera angle followed the football to nowhere. No people on the t.v. at all — just green field. Ball to nowhere.

For those of you not watching — it might sound like Poole’s running much better than Creer, but to me it looked more like better blocking.

Poole Looks Good
Yeah I think Poole looks a little better, but the blocking is a lot better today. My question is where is Clawson’s offense!? We haven’t really seen it all year, but I figured maybe we would today with Fulmer leaving and all. I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t see anything new and improved at all…
What happened to our defense?
Morley that important? Stressful week? Wyoming has a better offense than every SEC team we’ve played?
Fulmer is barking at the offense

Offense

Not what I was expecting
But we are fortunate to be down by only that, the way this game has gone so far.
Holy cow
I’ve been cruising the season stats for the team and just saw this nugget for 1st quarter scoring:
UT: 17
Opp: 70
To make matters worse
We usually receive the ball to start the 2nd half. We were outscored today in the first half, and we had the ball first.
Not good.
That's hardly a nugget
More like a . . . well, you know.

Just the tip of the iceburg, my friend. Check this:

Discuss
How surprised should we be with Stephen’s 2 first half interceptions? He’s thrown a lot of balls this year that “could have been” intercepted, and they just weren’t. So was he just a ticking time bomb?
I for one am surprised. This doesn’t seem like him.
Hamilton's halftime interview
1. Been a tough week.
2. Attendance poor, everybody in shock?
3. Want to honor Fulmer in the right way, partially in his discretion how we do that.
4. Hard to replace Fulmer, you can’t, have hired a search firm, lots of experience, take our intiial list of candidates, vet them, determine buyouts, interest, etc.
5. What type of coach? Leadership, salesman, integrity, good X&O, evaluator of talent, appreciates TN history.
6. Will need a national recruiter.
7. Timetable: critical to get right person, but do want to move quickly, but more important to get the right guy.
8. If we get to a bowl, will be Fulmer’s choice.
Go Vols!
by Joel Hollingsworth on Nov 8, 2008 2:20 PM EST reply actions
Yeah, I think I got that right
Those were some pretty quick notes, and I agree with the following comment, that a bowl is unlikely, but that was the question he was asked.

SO Glad I did not pay $300 for this nightmare.
Did you know that Comcast charges commercial establishments $300 or more for each pay-per-view event? There is a formula they use based on seating capacity. It used to be $5 for every seat. This season is hurting their commercial sales this year because a lot of bars in the Chattanooga area did not carry the game this week. I did discover that it is possible to transport a box from one location to the other for the purposes of getting the game on a tv that is not at your house.
The amount of pay-per-view games has risen sharply from 1-2 per year to now 3-4 per year. It’s getting ridiculous.
