A violation!!
Seriously!?!? A recuiting violation and you have been on the job for what 72 hours or less?! WOW!! Great hire there Mike and Great job Lane! Is this the reason why Al fired your butt and aired all of your dirty laundry out on ESPN? Lane you did say that you interviewed for all the bigger jobs, but you didn't get hired or even offers. Why is that? I bet Al Davis knows why!

What are you talking about? If you are talking about the recruiting test, ESPN is reporting that he took it last week. So….Seriously!?!?….What are you talking about?
Also…..Seriously!?!?….Al Davis is crazy.
Someday we'll look back on this and plow into a parked car.

Lane says
he took the exam before he arrived as coach.
“As far as recruiting, we’ve hit the ground running. I took the test a few days before I got hired here so that we could do that.”
Spurrier makes an accusation based on what HE, not Lane, did as far as the recruiting exam is concerned
“Spurrier noted that he didn’t retake the recruiting test until after he was introduced as the Gamecocks’ new coach and joked that Kiffin might have called Giles as "an interested observer.”

Spurrier strikes again.
Let’s not take what Spurrier says as law…Lane is officially welcome as the new head coach at UT by the Head Ball Coach.
Al Davis is a whacko.
Just. Give. It. To. Him. No. Flags. On. The. Field. 79 yards... Touuuccchhhhdowwwwn Tennessee!
And the National Championship is clad in Big Orange!
"This will be Graham. No it's Manning on the naked handoff reverse to the left side. Nobody even knows who's got the ball, except Peyton Manning. He's got the ball, and where is he? In the endzone for 6!"

I couldn't agree more
Davis is a headcase, and I’m thrilled to have Kiffin…

For contemporary use of the word “Seriously,” I blame Friends and Grey’s Anatomy.
Seriously.

He did it with ATM
It was one of the things that came up just before he was fired from there.

Yeah, nothing special.
Just one of the many, many shady things Coach Fran did. (Albert Means would like to stop by and say hi, while we’re kicking the dead horse yet again.)

Well, if we wanted a short conversation,
we could always talk about the shady things Fran didn’t do.

Sad state of affairs...
When someone takes something Steve Spurrier says about UT as the truth.

It's been a good litmus test, really.
I’ve seen a lot of sites where people make that declaration and cite an article to back it up, only to find out in the responses that the article itself explains how no infraction was made.
There’s serious value to training yourself to skim more than just the first paragraph in an article, particularly when you plan to cite it.

Do they take these tests every year?
Kiffin was at USC a few years ago so he must have taken it then too. Unless it’s a yearly exam or it’s relatively new.

I don't know about yearly, but I'm sure it's periodic.
And you probably have to retake it if you leave, no matter how quickly you come back to the college game.
But seriously, Kiffin was in charge of recruiting at USC (at various levels of responsibility throughout his time). Does anybody honestly believe he’d make that obvious of a gaffe in the recruiting rules after being away for only 2 years?

I imagine you retake it when the rules change or some such.
Or if you leave the NCAA coaching ranks.

I'm not worried about the test...
If he has a tough time with it, we’ll just have to get Joel to dust off his tweed coat with leather elbow patches and he can give Kiffin a quick crib course on taking the test. Just like he did for me on the law school entrance exam.
Of course, I’ve still not forgiven Joel for getting me into this sordid profession… =}
