Hopefully
the Vols will shoot better from the outside being back in a college gym, rather than a huge dome.  And Wayne Chism can continue to be a beast!
And now... the BasketVols!

Yeah
Lofton certainly didn't shoot very well. Until it counted, anyway.
Go Vols!

Three cheers
for Georgia Tech and the Raycom crew. Glad we get to see this.

looks happy. Wonder what he's thinking?

There's someting about the AR coach
Not sure what it is. Maybe that he looks like a high schooler wearing his first suit?
Go Vols!

OH!
CHISM TRIES TO GET in on the action with an identical move. Got fouled and almost got it anyway. Woo!
Go Vols!

Commercial break discussion.
Kentucky fans are quite upset right now.  ASoB was an interesting place.

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 6:29 PM EDT reply actions

Gotta love college sports
Where else do you see girls proudly wearing something with all caps HOG embroidered on the front?
Go Vols!

by Joel Hollingsworth on Mar 15, 2008 6:31 PM EDT reply actions

How to make a basketball fan
Take one six year old. Give her a box of strawberry Whoppers. Tell her she gets one Whopper for every point.

After that three, JaJuan Smith is now her favorite player.

Go Vols!

by Joel Hollingsworth on Mar 15, 2008 6:32 PM EDT reply actions

Was that wise with UT?
She might ingest about 15,000 calories by the time the game's over.

But that's a heck of a teaching tool.  I'll have to remember that.

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 6:34 PM EDT up reply actions

Those drawn inbounds plays
almost always work for UT.  Pearl's great at them

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 6:36 PM EDT reply actions

Arkansas can't keep up in a footrace.
They'll tire out in the second if they run too much.

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 6:37 PM EDT reply actions

Hope so
Good strategy to use tomorrow, too, especially if Georgia somehow gets there.
Go Vols!

by Joel Hollingsworth on Mar 15, 2008 6:40 PM EDT up reply actions

Um,
"Mom" wasn't the one embarassing the state of Tennessee.

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 6:40 PM EDT reply actions

Howell getting a 3
may have been asking for a bit too much, eh?

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 6:41 PM EDT reply actions

Emotion
That's why Duke's always on th eedge of danger.

Wait . . . Chism hurt? That's bad.

Go Vols!

by Joel Hollingsworth on Mar 15, 2008 6:46 PM EDT up reply actions

Oh, as far as the crowd goes,
the SEC decided to allow 400 fans per team into the arena.  Unfortunately, they did a horrible job of announcing it.  Most of Kentucky's contingent was due to their abnormally large "school contingent" and a bunch of fence-hoppers who slipped past the makeshift security.

By now, the fans know, though.  And I'm sure many more are getting in under the guise of being fans for teams who have lost.  But that's why there's something resembling a crowd there.

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 6:52 PM EDT reply actions

Squeaky wheels?
How did they decide which 400?
Go Vols!

by Joel Hollingsworth on Mar 15, 2008 6:56 PM EDT up reply actions

I don't know.
But I'm guessing the security was more amenable to the Lincoln guest pass than normal.

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 6:58 PM EDT up reply actions

Arkansas is really pushing themselves hard.
They're going for a lot of double teams and running all over the place.  It might work, but it might gas them too.

wrong
Most of that just looks backwards.
Go Vols!

by Joel Hollingsworth on Mar 15, 2008 7:04 PM EDT up reply actions

The bench points is very disconcerting.
Usually, it's the starting guards that get all the points for Arky against UT.

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 7:05 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah
Was that mostly one guy? Can't tell.
Go Vols!

by Joel Hollingsworth on Mar 15, 2008 7:08 PM EDT up reply actions

14 for Thomas
ESPN's Gamecast does indicate who the starters are.

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 7:13 PM EDT up reply actions

I think a lot of it is playing too loosely.
Arkansas is controlling the ball better so far.  A lot of our passes are errant.

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 7:06 PM EDT up reply actions

Hulk
has Ramar on a real short leash it seems, he pulled him right out after a few errant passes. I really wonder what Juanny was saying to the coach...

by Getoffmyvols on Mar 15, 2008 7:15 PM EDT reply actions

Ooh.
I turn to help my wife by peeling potatoes and looky at the score...

Maybe I should stop watching for a little while.

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 7:20 PM EDT reply actions

Maybe not hippie
Maybe more of a malnourished Paul Bunyan.
Go Vols!

by Joel Hollingsworth on Mar 15, 2008 7:24 PM EDT reply actions

They don't believe in blowouts anymore, do they?
But I think we can quit worrying about the free throw percentage so much now.

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 7:35 PM EDT reply actions

Refs are touchy today.
Was their ice water not cold enough at halftime?

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 7:43 PM EDT reply actions

Yes!
We needed that from Ramar.
Go Vols!

by Joel Hollingsworth on Mar 15, 2008 7:45 PM EDT reply actions

The Arky defensive players are getting
into foul trouble.  Pretty soon, they won't have anybody to hold the middle.  Of course, they'll always have Thomas to score...

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 7:45 PM EDT reply actions

TYLER!
Woooo! Unstoppable!
Go Vols!

by Joel Hollingsworth on Mar 15, 2008 7:47 PM EDT reply actions

Somebody . . .
. . . better get Brian off the court. He's playing with a techincal in addition to his 5th foul.
Go Vols!

by Joel Hollingsworth on Mar 15, 2008 8:06 PM EDT reply actions

We could really save a lot of effort.
Every time possession changes, they ought to just run about 15-20 seconds off the clock, call a foul on the nearest defender, and let somebody shoot free throws.

Oh, wait...

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 8:06 PM EDT reply actions

not fun to watch
when these guys call this many fouls

by guilded on Mar 15, 2008 8:06 PM EDT reply actions

We can't afford one thing
Tyler Smith getting his fifth foul. We need him at the end.
Go Vols!

by Joel Hollingsworth on Mar 15, 2008 8:09 PM EDT reply actions

I think I hope
that UT gets more than 89 this game.

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 8:14 PM EDT reply actions

Another called play.
UT is great at these things.  Here's hoping to another good one.

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 8:17 PM EDT reply actions

Well
Now we can root for Georgia. The underdog of underdogs. Three games in two days. Would love to see them win it all.
Go Vols!

by Joel Hollingsworth on Mar 15, 2008 8:24 PM EDT reply actions

Absolutely.
I'd love to see UGA muck up the tourney bracket.

by David Hooper on Mar 15, 2008 8:25 PM EDT up reply actions

Dang
Certainly was entertaining. Someone should rewrite the end though.
