TENNESSEE SEC REGULAR SEASON CHAMP T-SHIRTS

Okay, I'm awake now. Want one of those nifty SEC Champ t-shirts that Chris was sportin' during his post-game interview? Gotcha covered:

Wasn't it great to see Lofton, J. Smith, and Howell go out in style? If you have the game recorded and didn't see it, go check out the out-tro and have a look at Juanny dancing up and down the bench when Lofton hit his last three. That's a team, right there.

Congrats, guys. Time to take the show on the road.

And also to you
Looks like y'all are in. Fantastic turn around this season. Hope we can avoid each other in the post-season.
Go Vols!

I hope they meet.
The earliest that matchup will happen is the Final Four; the NCAA is not going to place UT and UK in the same bracket.  So having those two teams meet would mean that they've both won their bracket, and I have no problem with that.

To be honest, I'm expecting UK to go to Raleigh.  The way the UK fans travel, the NCAA overlords would be smart to take the short path for the fans.

I'm also expecting UT to go to Detroit (sending UCLA to Phoenix and Memphis to Houston).  I can't find information on how the FF teams will be placed, but I'm making the baseless guess that the Detroit winner will play the Raleigh winner.  That'd mean that UT and UK could play each other for rights to the Dance, which would be a fantastic time for everybody.

The 1970 game between Alabama and USC has been heralded by many (usually Trojan fans) as the contest which lead to the integration of Crimson Tide football. It's nonsense, of course, but that hasn't stopped that version of the story from spreading by West Coast revisionists.

One reasons Tennessee fans should be disappointed with this sloppy telling of history is that it almost completely discounts a historic game involving the Vols a year earlier.

In 1969, Lester McClain and Jackie Walker (pictured above) started in the Third Saturday in October game and broke the color line at Birmingham's Legion Field (a third black player, Andy Bennett, got into the game as well). Not only that, the Vols handed Bear Bryant's Tide team a 41-14 beatdown that afternoon.

I tell a bit of the tale at Roll Bama Roll today in my scathing review of a book about the 1970 Alabama vs. USC game, One Night, Two Teams.
