NEED HELP FOR NEW TRICK

Ya know that little picture to the left of your fan post title. Well I don't like it. I want to change it but I don't know how. Some of you brains out there help an Old Dawg out. Iam still trying to figure every thing out, I hope this new puppy is working for everyone else pretty good.  I like if pretty good, but I still don't have all the rough edges worked out yet as you can tell.

Step-by-step

You’ll be looking through your own computer for pictures, not a stock list from SBNation. If you want to use only a piece of a picture, make a copy of the piece you want to use before doing all this. Either way, know where the picture is on your computer.

Here you go:
  1. Click your name in the gray bar at the very top of the webpage. This gets you into your profile.
  2. Click on ””EDIT PROFILE” near the very top of the page.
  3. Click the “BROWSE” button.
  4. Find the picture you want to use.
  5. Once you select the picture, you should see the picture’s directory in the text window next to that “BROWSE” button. If you see text in there, go to the bottom of the page and click the “UPDATE” button. (You can also update all the other stuff on that page if you want.)

Lastly, images used in this manner are referred to as “Avatars”. If you want, you can search the internet for an Avatar of your liking. Mine is Gromit from Wallace & Gromit. It was free from the Wallace & Gromit official webpage. The nice thing about finding an Avatar online is that the pictures are already sized for this kind of use. If you try to use a large picture, the details tend to get lost.

Another question for you

Did you claim your old account when you made this new account for RTT? I ask because your profile doesn’t give an indication of all your comments from the old version. If you didn’t, I can give you directions for claiming the old profile so we can see how prolific of a writer you are. :)

Ooh.

That becomes an interesting question. Before you go that route, let me do some checking for you. There’s no worry about the old account being claimed by someone else; they’d need your old password first. (So on that note, don’t forget the password you used for the old account. You’ll need it to claim it.)

Meanwhile, why not change your signature to OLD SMOKEY? That’d make it a little easier for us to remember the connection. ;)

Volman, I've sent you an email.

Hang in there, and we’ll get you back to your old self again in no time.

The 1970 game between Alabama and USC has been heralded by many (usually Trojan fans) as the contest which lead to the integration of Crimson Tide football. It's nonsense, of course, but that hasn't stopped that version of the story from spreading by West Coast revisionists.

One reasons Tennessee fans should be disappointed with this sloppy telling of history is that it almost completely discounts a historic game involving the Vols a year earlier.

In 1969, Lester McClain and Jackie Walker (pictured above) started in the Third Saturday in October game and broke the color line at Birmingham's Legion Field (a third black player, Andy Bennett, got into the game as well). Not only that, the Vols handed Bear Bryant's Tide team a 41-14 beatdown that afternoon.

I tell a bit of the tale at Roll Bama Roll today in my scathing review of a book about the 1970 Alabama vs. USC game, One Night, Two Teams.
