Question for ed.

I have a question for either Joel or Hoop. If I write something in another format, say Word, can I transfer it into a FanPost? Is it as easy as just copying and pasting? Or is something else required? I'd like to write a piece about the upcoming season but it'll be too long to do directly so I figured I'd do it in Word and transfer it is that's posible. I remember y'all talking about this when we first switched over but I can't remember. BTW, why does this Post have to be 75 words long? Thanks.

FanPosts are most often submitted by users. The views and opinions expressed in FanPosts do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions held by the editorial staff of Rocky Top Talk or SB Nation.

Yes

Yes, you should be able to just cut and paste whatever you’ve done in Word into the story editor. The only thing to remember is that there are two ways to get stuff into the story editor: through a regular WYSIWYG interfect and through html code. That may be more complicated than you need it to be, so I won’t go into the differences any more unless you have questions. But if you simply type something into Word, you should be able to cut and paste directly into the default story editor.

The 75 words requirement is meant to distinguish between FanPosts (intended to be longer, more substantive posts) and FanShots (intended to just be really quick thoughts, comments, links, etc.)

By the way, in the worst case scenario, you could just send it to hooper or me, and we’ll format it for you and give you credit. That probably won’t be necessary, though, because I’ll think you’ll find it pretty straightforward.

Looking forward to the post!

Interfect?

Huh? Interface. My fingers have minds of their own.
