Vanderbilt

  • Beat Ole Miss on the road, 23-17.
  • Another game in the SEC in which the losing team out-statted the victor, as Ole Miss compiled 385 yards to Vandy's 202.
  • Vanderbilt's Ryan Hamilton made sure none of that mattered, intercepting three passes and returning one for a touchdown. He also prevented a score with a key goal-line tackle.
  • Bizarro breaking news: Vanderbilt is now ranked in the both the coaches and AP polls. The last time Vandy was ranked? Ask George Orwell.

Kentucky

  • Beat Middle Tennessee at home, 20-14.
  • A back and forth affair ended dramatically as MTSU threw a 61 yard desperation pass in the waning seconds with Kentucky holding on to a 20-14 lead. It appeared to be a Hail Mary-ish victory, but was just short. Still, the Blue Raiders had one last chance right at the goal line, but Kentucky's Robbie McAtee tackled MTSU's Eldred King at the 1-yard line to preserve the victory.

Just trying to figure out whether my half-n-half jersey should lean a little brown or a little orange…

(Yes, that does mean the half-n-half is on its way. I have the pieces, but I won’t assemble it until game week.)

Well, at least you’ll be easy to spot at the game. :)
