RTT SEC Power Poll ballot
RTT's SEC Power Poll ballot for this week. The numbers repeatedly referred to below are the same ones I use for the RTT BlogPoll ballot. They're not in order of their ranking in that system, though, because that's intended to be a resume system, and this is a purely subjective power poll.
- Alabama. I hate to say it, but these guys just look fantastic. They're young, though, so I'm hoping that now that they're in the lead, they'll falter. My blind optimism will have to pay dividends at some point this season, right?
- LSU. Plugging right along.
- Georgia. I said last week that Alabama could get them, but I didn't think that they were going to get them behind the shed and embarrass them seven ways from sinister. I have no idea what that means, but it came out my fingers, and I like the way it sounds.
- Vanderbilt. Now this is embarrassing. Moving along.
- Kentucky. Wait. Moving along faster.
- Mississippi. Fantastic show at Florida. Woo, giggity. Where are the guys with the money to fund the airplane banners now, hmm?
- Florida. Why can't the Gators play like that against the Vols? Why oh why oh why oh why oh whyohwhyohwhy?
- Auburn. Spent the weekend at home against the Vols, and I don't just mean at Auburn, I mean on their own side of the field. And yet, it didn't matter. Oy.
- South Carolina. Hey, look at this, Vol fans. Spurrier beat UAB 26-13? We beat them 35-3. Hey, silver linings are silver linings, right? Still, I can't bring myself to think we will beat them.
- Tennessee. Opportunity playing ding dong ditch with the Tennessee Volunteers.
- Arkansas. Both luck and karma have caught up with the Razorback faithful for running Nutt outta town.
- Mississippi State. Um, 1-4.
All of the numbers are below the fold.

I've said it before, but I'm extremely happy for Nutt.
I’ve always liked him, and I have no sympathy for those nutjobs who felt justified in the horrible treatment he received at Arkansas. Petrino might get that program rolling, but I think we’re seeing that Nutt is a far better coach than the Ozarkians realize.
The really amazing thing is how he turned around Ole Miss’s entire outlook on football. When he took up the program, none of the players on the team had been to a bowl game. they had gone 0-fer in the SEC the previous year, and there was nothing in the recruiting to suggest some miraculous turnaround. But the team has confidence and don’t play like they expect to lose. Good for Nutt, and good for Ole Miss.
