"It happened in a matter over three days," Thompson offered. "I wasn't looking to leave Alabama. I was happy there. We had just won 12 games and went to the Sugar Bowl. We were 15 minutes away from playing for a national championship. I had no reason to leave Alabama. It was coach Kiffin.
