Good friend or not, especially after I tried to allow him a graceful conclusion yesterday, I will not let Kyle re-write history by claiming that Dr. Saturday said "exactly what I said, but more diplomatically."

Dr. Saturday: "Tennessee, however, a lopsided loss to a mediocre, one-dimensional team on the brink of collapse itself . . . ."

Kyle: ". . . the current incarnation of the Big Orange is awful. The Vols are a terrible football team. Simply stated, they suck."

Certainly, words are not numbers, but ignoring that they have relative values is beyond comprehension. More succinctly, "mediocre" is greater than "awful," "terrible," and "suck" even if you didn't amplify the effect by adding them all together.
