Tyler Smith has Vols excited
Wednesday was media day for Vol basketball, and this piece from Mark Wiedmer at the Chattanooga Times-Free Press is outstanding, including Tyler Smith's original NBA plans, Scotty Hopson's shiny new 18 pounds, and Brian Williams on last year's inability to get on the same page, the same book, or even open the defensive one. Exhibition play starts two weeks from Friday, season opener is November 13.

These comments gave me chills:
“They taught me how to be more professional, how to dress, how to be on time, if not early,” he said. “If they’re going to invest $1 million in you, they have a right to expect that.”
But that doesn’t mean his heart ever wanted to leave early.
“This is home,” Tyler said as he tugged on the “Livestrong” yellow plastic bracelet his father gave him before he passed away. “Wherever I go in the NBA, I’m still going to wear the orange. I’m really going to miss the football Saturdays, tailgating, Rocky Top.”

Two weeks from Friday?
Really? YAY!!!!!
"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone." A. Bartlett Giamatti
Yep
They’ve got North Alabama on Fri Oct 30, which makes for a nice weekend if folks are also around for the South Carolina game the next day. Then they’ve got LMU on Wed Oct 4, before the real games begin with Austin Peay on Fri Nov 13

chemistry
This team appears to have great chemistry, something that was a bit missing last year.
