Tennessee has the edge at Quarterback over Alabama???

This is Scout Inc's breakdown of the game this weekend.  They are predicting an Alabama win 27-13, but in their positional breakdown, they give the edge at quarterback to Tennessee.  Is it because Crompton is that good, or McElroy is that bad?  They think it's kind of both, but it is certainly surprising to see.  These two quarterbacks have moved in opposite directions over the last 2 weeks.

Also, the only other unit Tennessee has the edge at is the secondary.

Beats me.

It’s close, but McElroy has

  • More Completions (1) on less attempts (4)
  • More Yards (115)
  • Fewer Touchdowns (4) But Fewer Interceptions (6)
  • Higher Rating (8.5)

Best I could say is that Scouts is comparing the last two games.

If you want to get cute:

Last 5 Quarters For Crompton vs Last Two Games for McElroy. (Because Crompton didn’t start getting going till the 4th vs Auburn.)

predicting this upcoming game using the very scientific method of extrapolation

Jonathan Crompton should have a rating of 275 and McElroy will have a rating of 5

Its settled then

Based on the graph Vols do have a decided advantage at the QB position.
