Well down by 6 at the half, did you think we would be in the position earlier today?

Hi all
Just in from work. Tim Priest was saying on the way home that Lincoln looked weak in warmups. Was the attempt close?
Closeish. Was definately Short. So not really. 47 yards?

Was hoping to be a little closer at the half
We’re going to have to make something out of our many trips into their end this time. Three times inside their 35, 3 points.
by Incipient_Senescence on Oct 24, 2009 5:17 PM EDT reply actions
Early in the season, we got the ball first in the 3rd quarter
And promptly threw interceptions. But that was with Bad Crompton. Let’s hope it looks different this week.
by Incipient_Senescence on Oct 24, 2009 5:18 PM EDT reply actions
so far, UT is hanging on, but Bama really had the better half.
That ability to get consistent rushes up the middle is a serious problem.
Not that much better
Only 38 yards more offense. The special teams have been a 3 point swing. This probably should be a 3 point lead for the Tide.

Really, the running game in general has been the difference.

Against the #1 team in the country
I can handle 9-3 at half. Especially considering we’ve missed some opportunities. If we can capitalize in the 2nd half, we might have a shot to win
What was the halftime score
against Florida? Seems eerily similar

My mom is at the game
she’s never been to a UT away game, and she keeps sending me texts about how terrible their fans are. This road trip has turned her into a Bama hater for sure.
and she is sitting in the Alabama player family section…. haha
I'll be really sad
if EB can’t get his 15 yards. He’s done so much shoring up weaknesses on D for CMK instead of roaming the backfield. I’m hopeful, but growing depressed with each game
Me too.
He’s spending an awful lot of time in run support for many opportunities.

We can’t be too irate here.
We kept the #1 team in the nation from scoring any touchdowns.
We scored the only one in the game.
We made it a extremely close game./
I’d say our boys should go home heads high with reason to believe they can finish this season worthwhile

i haven't felt this way about a game
since i was about 10. I’m so proud of them, but yeah, heart broken.
We should've tried to make it a shorter kick
It might not have made it any higher, but we should’ve tried. That was terrible.
by Incipient_Senescence on Oct 24, 2009 7:00 PM EDT reply actions
The only issue I have was the draw on first down.
We could’ve run a few plays there to see if we had gotten any closer. But had either of the other kicks been good, it wouldn’t be an issue, so it’s not worth second-guessing.

no reason not to try to get that 10 yards closer.

I think the offensive improvement
Is remarkable. I was expecting business as usual from Crompton against Bama. Glad to say I was completely wrong.
We shouldn’t have even needed that final drive. We need some work on special teams (i realize: understatement of the season.)
Toughest loss since?
I cant even think right now
You can't sit on a lead and run a few plays into the line and just kill the clock. You've got to throw the ball over the goddamn plate and give the other man his chance. That's why baseball is the greatest game of them all.

And if anybody every talks bad about Jonathan Crompton, I’ll be in their face. He played like a legend today—and to set up the last field goal he made an extremely difficult pass into triple coverage.
