Around the SB Nation: recapping the week's big games
- While we attempt to find the balance between the pain of losing an upset the Vols had locked up and the promise of the future, Roll Bama Roll is breathing a sigh of relief, saying that Tennessee deserved to win the game. The SEC's disinterested observer Team Speed Kills thought the game was so boring that it's making plans to do something else when the two teams meet again next season.
- Maize n Brew continues to lament its defense after its 35-10 loss to Penn State as Black Shoe Diaries enjoys the Nittany Lions' "best showing of the season, one week after their last-best performance of 2009." Iowa blog Black Heart Gold Pants enjoys Iowa's move to No. 4 in the BCS rankings after a close 15-13 victory over Michigan State while The Only Colors becomes temporally unhinged in its post-game breakdown. Disinterested observer The Rivalry, Esq. recaps those two games plus the rest of the Big Ten action from Saturday.
- Red Cup Rebellion has a novel approach to this week's Top 25, lumping the teams into groups and type-casting them as characters from LOST.

Well, you know what?
It seems to me that Team Speed Kills is taking the term “disinterested observer” way too literally here. Hey guys, disinterested here is supposed to mean unbiased, not “I don’t like any team but mine, so I’m not going to give any other teams any credit for anything, because it bores me to watch their games.” At least he’s being honest, I suppose.
"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone."
