UT Hurry-Up
Remember the Florida game, which Tennessee didn't try to win late in the 4th quarter? Remember when the administrators of this blog made the point that UT didn't run any sort of hurry up offense because they don't HAVE a functional hurry-up offense? Well they are running a hurry up right now, and it looks a hell of a lot more functional then the other offense they run. That is all.

Hey Jon! How long will it take me to repress the memories??
And everything about Crompton's/WR's performance
up to that point in the game was a great indication that the hurry up would work.
RIIIIIIIiiiiiiiight.
Dear Troll,
Take the time to learn how football works, then come back and we’ll have this conversation. That is all.
But it's way more fun to use a super-simplified approach to distill complex items down to a single point.
Eric Berry for sending the guy who wins the Heisman spinning 720 degrees in the air at the podium - or for intercepting it and returning it to where it rightfully belongs

Urban Meyer knows how football works. . . .
and he made his assessment. The only logical explanation for UT’s behavior after getting the ball back down 23-13 is they didn’t have a hurry up offense, which was plausible, until it wasn’t. So the simpleminded trolls would like the new explanation for why Tennessee wasn’t not trying to win the game.
Also, it is curious that Tennessee had a rather mediocre performance against Ohio and then got handled by Auburn, and Lane Kiffin hasn’t told us all his players were sick yet. Since he said he would do so after he was disappointed with his team’s performance, are we to presume that UT is HAPPY with the last two performances? Oh , how sad.
I won't acknowledge the ridiculousness of your first statement,
but the second, well, Kiffin was merely pointing out what a serious whiner Urbie is. He had no intention of actually doing that himself.
The funniest thing about all this is you are still here talking about a 2-3 team. You would think someone who’s team has won 2 MNC’s recently wouldn’t care about us right now, but I guess Kiffin has really crawled in your head. Keep it coming troll, this is actually fun for us knowing how much it bothers you guys.

Points made.
That administrator you were referring to is me. I still stand by that. Based on all the football played up to that 4th quarter, there was absolutely no reason to believe that offense existed. I still wonder if it does, to be honest. ;-) Certainly it didn’t exist during the Florida game. But I don’t mind you challenging that assertion in the least, and thank you for keeping us in check. Glad to know you read!
And the points behind your barbs are fair points. There are many ways to interpret the evidence right now, and I’m not going to begrudge anybody their interpretation. And while we have no problem with rivals swinging this way and adding to the discourse, we don’t allow the blog to devolve into ESPNish comment flamefests (no matter who’s doing the flaming). Some good ribbing is fine, so long as we can tell it’s in jest (again, both ways). Winkies are strongly encouraged.
But since the points are made, we’ll close the comments here. They’ll stay up for people to read and consider, but we’re a little too close to losing respect on this one, so I’ll kill that before it goes out of hand.
Thanks for swinging by. ;-)
