At this point, I now give up explaining The Blind Side.
It may yet stink, but being a chick flick is actually rather true to the book. That’s why they picked it for a movie in the first place.

Heh
Yeah, I don’t have time to go find the post, but I’m on record that this is a good thing. I showed the trailer to my wife two nights ago. As I was bringing the computer to her, I think she rolled her eyes. But she watched and said, “That actually looks pretty good.” The movie’s not for football fans. If anyone thinks a big budget movie about the Xs and Os of football will ever be made, I think they’ll be disappointed. The movie’s for movie fans. And if it gets my house full of females even marginally closer to appreciating football, I’m all for it.
But this comes from a guy who just confessed to watching Barbie’s Christmas Carol the other night, so I’m probably a lost cause.

My girlfriend really wants to see it
I think it looks fairly terrible. I’m actually a little surprised, because she tends not to like movies that are dripping in sentimentality. But as I mentioned before, I was an extra, so I kinda feel obligated to see it (even though I’ll never in a million years be able to pick myself out of the crowd).
