All non-comments on the refs aside
That rushing yardage is something evil.

Ole Miss is NOT in Knoxville!

I don't have a problem with the scheme.
The losses in defense have finally caught up to the team. First, all the injuries. Then losing a starter and a vital backup two days before the game.
If our linebacker corps were healthy, the D would have had a much better chance. But they’ve been on their heels all day long.

Looks like Houston will fall
Hooper, maybe our adjustment was wrong.

can't predict the future with it.
It’s a past-performance metric only.

So, in terms of bowl scenarios...
South Carolina losing would certainly help…not sure what the best outcome is in Auburn/Georgia tonight, though I expect both to lose their season finales anyway. Still an outside shot at the Outback if they don’t want Auburn over us, though Auburn would deserve it more.
I’d still love to see the Hokies in Atlanta
Auburn needs to win.
We can’t get 3rd in conference, so we absolutely must get 2nd in the East.
by David Hooper on Nov 14, 2009 3:17 PM EST up reply actions
Yeah
Our only shot at the Outback is that they pick us over Auburn, even though Auburn will have a superior resume.
by Incipient_Senescence on Nov 14, 2009 3:17 PM EST up reply actions
There's some small hope that they do this for two reasons:
1. Lane Kiffin media attention
2. We’re East. They’re West.
by Incipient_Senescence on Nov 14, 2009 3:18 PM EST up reply actions
The Cotton will want Auburn.
LSU to the Capital One. the worst case will be Auburn to Outback and Ole Miss to Cotton.
by David Hooper on Nov 14, 2009 3:18 PM EST up reply actions
Can it get any worse?
I hope he is OK! This has been a rough week for the team
He took a shot in the head
so that’s a good possibility. Do they bring out the stretcher for that?
Backers left (in no particular order):
Herman Lathers
Rico McCoy
Jerod Askew
Greg King
Robert Nelson
Nigel Mitchell-Thornton
Daryl Vereen
Then the scout team:
Shane Reveiz
Jake Storey
Josh Hawkins
Grant Jessen
Maybe Lincoln should man up and move to LB
Find some way to contribute to the team for that free education he’s getting.
That just about tells you everything you need to know.
by David Hooper on Nov 14, 2009 3:26 PM EST up reply actions
I think Askew
is headed for the redshirt
by Will Shelton on Nov 14, 2009 3:26 PM EST up reply actions
A few of them might be, IIRC.
But that’s the whole roster that’s left.
by David Hooper on Nov 14, 2009 3:27 PM EST up reply actions
Well, at least we know we're headed in the right direction
Remember, despite recent successes, this IS a rebuilding year.

What are we going to call next year?
Rebuild 2.0
No doubt
and while there are some things to be justifiably upset about, barring disaster we’re still going bowling, and that’s improvement. Interesting to see how Kiffin handles being blown out for the first time.
by Will Shelton on Nov 14, 2009 3:27 PM EST up reply actions
Between this and the arrests
I wanna see Kiff circle the wagons, close out strong. Let’s win a bowl game, bag some more top recruits, and get ready for round 2.
In defense of this beatdown
We weren’t expected to win this game at the start of the year. Speaks volumes about this team
I'm headed over to Red Cup Rebellion
for a good old fashioned post-game hand shake.

Watch McCluster
Not break 100 yards for the rest of the year.
What year is McCluster?
Will we have to worry about him next year in Knoxville?
by Incipient_Senescence on Nov 14, 2009 3:31 PM EST reply actions
Well
In that case, I think we may be able to get the better of them next year.
by Incipient_Senescence on Nov 14, 2009 3:33 PM EST up reply actions
Another bowl possibility. . .
If Ole Miss loses to LSU and State and we win our last two, we’d both be 7-5. We may get picked over them for Outback, despite the head to head, since Outback prefers the East. This is a lot of wishful thinking though.
by Incipient_Senescence on Nov 14, 2009 3:34 PM EST reply actions
Yeah.
Chik-Fil-A seems to be the goal now.
by David Hooper on Nov 14, 2009 3:34 PM EST up reply actions
But I already made the deal with my girlfriend
That we wouldn’t do two Vol games in one day.
I was really banking on the Outback. Now I have to miss UT/Memphis
by Incipient_Senescence on Nov 14, 2009 3:35 PM EST up reply actions
that's it.
I’m out. Take some frustration out on some leaves, I guess. Thanks guys.
Well...that was majorly disappointing
But it’s nice to be able to suffer through with like-minded people. See you next week. Thanks, guys.
Yeah, but it beats no football at all....
And it could be worst. In fact this time last year, it was.

You know what?
It’s ok. We’re going to be fine. This staff is so awesome and we’re going to come out of this. It’s one of those, “beat us now while you can” type of things. You know why? Because Tennessee is coming. And we’re coming DRUNK!!!!
