Well, despite our grievances with some of the no-calls,

We can’t complain much with the end result. They outplayed UT.

by David Hooper on Nov 14, 2009 3:10 PM EST reply actions

We'll see these guys next November in Knoxville

despite personnel differences from this year to next, we’d better learn from today

Oh, stupid.

I know you all are angry, guys, but…

by David Hooper on Nov 14, 2009 3:12 PM EST reply actions

That's so nice of the refs.

They saw Miss needed some help so they gave them some. How sweet.

Is our team really this bad?

I keep asking, and I want the answer to suddenly change.

by Incipient_Senescence on Nov 14, 2009 3:12 PM EST reply actions

Against offenses like this, yes we are

Auburn may not have had McCluster, but we were just as crossed up

by Will Shelton on Nov 14, 2009 3:13 PM EST up reply actions

We're not bad

We’re just weak in the middle.

by ChattVol on Nov 14, 2009 3:13 PM EST up reply actions

No.

They just have this potential if they’re not careful. But they’re a better team than today.

by David Hooper on Nov 14, 2009 3:13 PM EST up reply actions

Agreed. This team's holes

make for a low floor. But the staff and bright spots on the roster make for the high ceiling we’ve seen.

Sigh.....

Disappointing performance. So much for getting to see the boys come down to Tampa for the bowl game.

Go South Carolina.

Cannons... fire them.

Sadly, I want Florida to win.

We can still take 2nd in the East via tiebreakers.

by David Hooper on Nov 14, 2009 3:16 PM EST up reply actions

I can understand that,

but living in Florida, the Timmy-timers here are nauseating. Gator fan needs to be checked, so each week here I hope for Florida to fail miserably….with no luck.

So, in terms of bowl scenarios...

South Carolina losing would certainly help…not sure what the best outcome is in Auburn/Georgia tonight, though I expect both to lose their season finales anyway. Still an outside shot at the Outback if they don’t want Auburn over us, though Auburn would deserve it more.

I’d still love to see the Hokies in Atlanta

by Will Shelton on Nov 14, 2009 3:17 PM EST reply actions

Auburn needs to win.

We can’t get 3rd in conference, so we absolutely must get 2nd in the East.

by David Hooper on Nov 14, 2009 3:17 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah

Our only shot at the Outback is that they pick us over Auburn, even though Auburn will have a superior resume.

by Incipient_Senescence on Nov 14, 2009 3:17 PM EST up reply actions

Point #1

would make a diff, but head-to-head should matter. 7-5 isn’t a guarantee if we keep losing players

by ChattVol on Nov 14, 2009 3:20 PM EST up reply actions

The Cotton will want Auburn.

LSU to the Capital One. the worst case will be Auburn to Outback and Ole Miss to Cotton.

by David Hooper on Nov 14, 2009 3:18 PM EST up reply actions

Can it get any worse?

I hope he is OK! This has been a rough week for the team

by KnoxVegas on Nov 14, 2009 3:19 PM EST reply actions

Backers left (in no particular order):

Herman Lathers
Rico McCoy
Jerod Askew
Greg King
Robert Nelson
Nigel Mitchell-Thornton
Daryl Vereen

Then the scout team:
Shane Reveiz
Jake Storey
Josh Hawkins
Grant Jessen

Maybe Lincoln should man up and move to LB

Find some way to contribute to the team for that free education he’s getting.

by wkmille on Nov 14, 2009 3:25 PM EST up reply actions

No surprise, that.

Hard to play defense after an injury like that.

by David Hooper on Nov 14, 2009 3:25 PM EST reply actions

and theres the insult to go with the injury

by hal41605 on Nov 14, 2009 3:25 PM EST reply actions

No doubt

and while there are some things to be justifiably upset about, barring disaster we’re still going bowling, and that’s improvement. Interesting to see how Kiffin handles being blown out for the first time.

by Will Shelton on Nov 14, 2009 3:27 PM EST up reply actions

Between this and the arrests

I wanna see Kiff circle the wagons, close out strong. Let’s win a bowl game, bag some more top recruits, and get ready for round 2.

by wkmille on Nov 14, 2009 3:29 PM EST up reply actions

In defense of this beatdown

We weren’t expected to win this game at the start of the year. Speaks volumes about this team

Watch McCluster

Not break 100 yards for the rest of the year.

by ChattVol on Nov 14, 2009 3:31 PM EST reply actions

What year is McCluster?

Will we have to worry about him next year in Knoxville?

by Incipient_Senescence on Nov 14, 2009 3:31 PM EST reply actions

Well

In that case, I think we may be able to get the better of them next year.

by Incipient_Senescence on Nov 14, 2009 3:33 PM EST up reply actions

Another bowl possibility. . .

If Ole Miss loses to LSU and State and we win our last two, we’d both be 7-5. We may get picked over them for Outback, despite the head to head, since Outback prefers the East. This is a lot of wishful thinking though.

by Incipient_Senescence on Nov 14, 2009 3:34 PM EST reply actions

Yeah.

Chik-Fil-A seems to be the goal now.

by David Hooper on Nov 14, 2009 3:34 PM EST up reply actions

But I already made the deal with my girlfriend

That we wouldn’t do two Vol games in one day.

I was really banking on the Outback. Now I have to miss UT/Memphis

that's it.

But it’s nice to be able to suffer through with like-minded people. See you next week. Thanks, guys.

You know what?

It’s ok. We’re going to be fine. This staff is so awesome and we’re going to come out of this. It’s one of those, “beat us now while you can” type of things. You know why? Because Tennessee is coming. And we’re coming DRUNK!!!!
