Rocky Top Talk Podcast: 9:30 PM Eastern Tonight!

The Rocky Top Talk Podcast will begin a half hour later than normal tonight - 9:30 PM - due to scheduling conflicts (a/k/a real life knows no podcast). We will update this space with the podcast information sometime between now and then.

We'll talk about the Vols over the last few days and going forward, and we'll have Jeremy Mauss from MWCConnection on board to talk about the midmajors who are crashing the BCS party. Time permitting, we might get in some basketball talk as well.

And, as always, feel free to join in and be a part of the conversation!

UK beat Miami,OH 72-70 tonight, with a last minute jumper by Wall with 6 seconds left. I don’t know if this UK team is going to live up to the hype-machine

Watched the last six minutes

Heard Miami was up 36-18 in the first half…Wall is a player but got a lot of his points at the FT line. Cousins took and missed a lot of shots but still ended up with a double-double. Raw talent and crazy DDM style, check. Experience and togetherness, not so much. It’s just a matter of when they put it all together.

Also, I think Will is correct. Crazy talent, good coaching. They’re not gelling as well as they should right now, but they’re young. It will happen. And that’s a little scary. Hopefully we can continue our good play vs. Cal.

And yes, this team has some scary talent that will undoubtedly get better. From what I’ve been able to tell from their exhibition games they play defense and rebound pretty well, but the offense just is not up to Cal’s expectations yet. Which I find slightly strange, because Cal said about a month ago that the offense was only like 60% installed and the defense was still a like 20 or 30%.

Either way, I dont doubt these guys show up at gametime when they play us.
