Having passed the first test of the season with flying colors, the Lady Vols now test their road game out in San Antonio as they play the ESPN Classic against Texas Tech. Unlike Baylor, Tech is built on small, speedy players who, while not nearly as highly rated as Baylor's, should give Tennessee a completely different kind of challenge. On Sunday, Tennessee outran Baylor; today, Tennessee must run at least as fast as the tempo that Texas Tech is likely to use.
Tech appears to have no answer for Tennessee's uber-center Kelley Cain, who should again be the focus of the offense. So long as she doesn't get in early foul trouble (again), Tennessee should have no trouble finding good looks at the basket and getting the rebounds the Summitt values so highly.
Discipline: Two Lady Vols (Alyssia Brewer and Kamiko Williams) will not be present for what sounds like missed classes on Monday. Alyssia bears watching, as she has already felt Summitt's ire this year for a lack of effort in the preseason. She's one of ours and needs our support, but she also needs to stop giving reasons for Summit to be mad.

Charlotte or Asheville?
Isn’t the men’s game tonight against UNC-Asheville? Of course it’s completely possible I’ve gotten my branches of UNC mixed up…
Yup. The title is now fixed.
You win the Eagle Eye Award for the thread! Yaaaay!

Sweet!
I’m new to all this commenting stuff. I found you guys near the beginning of football season and I’ve been an avid reader (boring job + RTT = lots of reading). You guys do a great job and I figured I might as well start throwing my 2 cents in on things.

Somebody should explain that to Solid if he's new this season
Bobo watched an archived game instead of the live one everyone else was watching one time last year. One of the funniest things I have ever seen on the web.

You'll find that this is pretty much the best of the best...
In terms of content, community, and class.
(man that is some seriously unintentional alliteration)
Anyway, if you love the Vols, this is the place. I should know, I have ripped off more stuff from Joel, Hooper, and Will than just about anyone on the web…

Well, all of your articles are fantastic, and timely
Much better than the stuff I used to have to read on govolsxtra, when they finally made that free. I don’t read much of anything over there any more, thanks to you guys. Volquest has good inside info, but for analysis, RTT is tops.

And thanks for the fix. Yet another rough day at the day job had me distracted and rushing through non-day job, unimportant things yet again.

Please don’t call him Sweet Tea McBee. I understand – Southern accent and all that – but seriously? Thanks a lot, team.

So when I read this quote, “You know, the thing about the South is that supposedly we make and love sweet tea. And it rhymes with my name, so the guys went with it,” I first thought he said, “We make love and sweet tea.”
It was funny in my head.

Pearl made a huge deal about constantly passing the ball – even if they didn’t see a reason to. His theory is that passing opens things up, but holding the ball doesn’t.

Oh hey, the ladies are back.
Just missed the start of the second half, but they’ve already scored.
And hey look – Cain underneath for a basket plus a freebie. 34-17 pending the shot.

This pretty much sums up Blacklege and his beloved: http://www.totalprosports.com/blog/index.php/2009/11/tim-tebow-makes-for-quite-the-halloween-costume/
oh and 66-14 at the half. Wow, Bruce Ball FTW!
Neyland Stadium-It goes to eleven.
I think my favorite Blackledge moment
is when he mentions Tebow in a game Florida isn’t in. Oh well, it’s just a drinking game now anyway.

Yeah
I don’t know if I dislike Danielson b/c he’s Danielson or b/c his arrival to CBS w/ Lundquist coincided with Tebow’s arrival at Florida. Either way, dude gets on my last nerve.
