No pretties this afternoon. Just what I'm hoping are helpful links. If you're able, first count yourself lucky and then leave your comments below.

Already we have what has to be considered an upset
DePaul beat Northern Iowa 60-52, so the Vols will see the Blue Demons if they can get past ECU. DePaul was 9-24, 0-18 in the Big East last year, while Northern Iowa won the Missouri Valley tourney and played in the Big Dance, so good for DePaul for making progress.
Hopefully this isn't the case...
but UTSports.com is saying the video feed via Fox at the link above is pay per view, $8 per game. If the Vols win, they’ll be televised Sunday and Monday, so today should be the only time anybody gets hit with it. Guess we’ll find out for sure in a few minutes…either way, audio is always free.

Its okay guys, not only do i bleed orange, but I urinate it too

me either
but the one i tried a couple days ago, i saved, but it’s not working either. maybe too many people trying to get on at once….
forget that
i’m not going to be at work that long…. i sent a tweet to mike hamilton asking why this tournament wasn’t getting any tv covereage.
i don’t know why they would choose to participate in a tourney w/o tv unless they just wanted to go on their own little vacation.
Yeah, me neither.
For one, I’m going to be driving home in a bit. For two, I wouldn’t pay $8 to see UT in a final game this early in the season, much less a prelim. Heck, CBS doesn’t charge a dime for their March Madness on Demand.
3:30 PM – 6 PM for two East Coast teams is not exactly a viewer-friendly time for PPV.

By the way, whoever thought this price structure up has a very poor perspective.
Most people will get the final games on TV via their pre-existing cable. For the average person, if you consider the price of the game based on their monthly bill and the total amount of TV they watch, it’s going to be about a buck to watch the final. Compared to $8 for a prelim.
ECU has a reasonable tall team. 3-4 starters are 6'-6" to 6'-10"
Outrunning them may be the way to go. :-D
Sounds sloppy
17-13 ECU at 11:59
ECU has gotten contact at the rim a couple of times, but four of the fouls are on our guards – wonder if we’re just getting beat?
The guard play was the big concern in that open scrimmage.
It’s the one place we may have to be a bit patient with this team.

I kinda tihnk so, too.
I don’t trust my opinions on that all that much (I’m not much of a basketball guy), but it seemed that way to me.

It's only the third game
but we’re going to be hard pressed to go away from the Hopson/Tatum lineup – they’re the two best players on the floor again so far, 9 for Hopson and 6 for Tatum early
nice to see bunches again.
I missed those last year.
by David Hooper on Nov 20, 2009 3:56 PM EST up reply actions
i was just typing a comment about that
wonder whats up with that. you think redshirting was ever in the discussion? i think it would have been better for him
Obviously his wrist injury was no big deal
If we’re still at an 11 man rotation by SEC play I’d be surprised…one of McBee, Woolridge and Kenny Hall will be out
by Will Shelton on Nov 20, 2009 4:08 PM EST up reply actions
I think it's percentage based
CamTatum played in a few games early three years ago before they sat him for the redshirt, but I don’t remember how many

I like it. I think that's how its supposed to be.
Get everybody in there while you can and figure out who’s going to be the most productive
I know "I hate Kesling" is a tired meme...
… but I really like Wilkerson a lot more.
Lou Brock loves Lamp.
Biggest difference
Wilkerson gives the score after every made basket.
by Will Shelton on Nov 20, 2009 4:15 PM EST up reply actions
That, and he tells you what is happening.
Tall order for a play-by-play man, I know, but still…
Lou Brock loves Lamp.
I guess you all are listening to the radio broadcast?
I am totally in the dark on this one. I’m not paying $8 and that Silverlight or whatever for the radio feed won’t work on my office computer.
43-27 Vols at the half
Closed on a 30-8 run. Hopson 13, Tatum 12, and neither really relying on the three – Hopson has one, Tatum has two
Hopson looks good early on
If he continues to be this good, do you think he is gone after this year?
the only Tennessee game on tv right now
is the replay of UT vs. Ole Miss on CBS College Sports Network
pass, i could barely listen to it on the radio, certainly i cant watch it then

Odd stat in that game:
Points scored by UK’s starters: 102
Points scored by UK’s bench: 0
by David Hooper on Nov 20, 2009 4:44 PM EST up reply actions
Cousins had something insane like a 27-18 in that game
He might be better than Patrick Patterson before the end of the season
by Will Shelton on Nov 20, 2009 4:45 PM EST up reply actions
I do wish the UK games came a little earlier in conference play.
I think that UK has a little more room to grow, given their transition into a new system.
by David Hooper on Nov 20, 2009 4:47 PM EST up reply actions
right
they could mesh by late in the season and play up to their potential… but that doesn’t always happen
i dont think theyve figured out this dribble drive offense yet
nor have i though

I was thinking that too
That’d be totally awesome.

It's good to hear they haven't let the scenery distract them.
I’m beginning to like the DePaul matchup.
DePaul winning today stuns me
0-18 in the Big East last year, I’ve never seen them play but I’m happy for them to get a win against a noteworthy opponent, Northern Iowa was “also receiving votes”.
That said, we’re way better than them.
by Will Shelton on Nov 20, 2009 4:54 PM EST up reply actions
beating them would put UT in the final game, right?
by David Hooper on Nov 20, 2009 4:54 PM EST up reply actions
Yep
Other half of the bracket is #7 Purdue, Boston College, St. Joseph’s, South Dakota State.
by Will Shelton on Nov 20, 2009 4:55 PM EST up reply actions
Mixed feelings there.
On one hand, beating Purdue would be a big SOS help. On the other hand, them losing sooner would damage their reputation more…
by David Hooper on Nov 20, 2009 4:56 PM EST up reply actions
I have no feelings at all about them.
Just, being a #7 ranking, they’re potentially competitive with UT for seeding. (And yes, that’s waaay too far out in the future.)
by David Hooper on Nov 20, 2009 5:00 PM EST up reply actions
yeah my SI table is messed up
the shooting s arent lined up right, good stat: over 80 from the line

Good grief
UT is just playing now. Steals on most of ECU’s possessions, and they’re getting gimmicky (and making) the transition shots.
sounds like Hopson is done for the game now.
Not by fouling out.

nvm.
Announcer just said that Huber is warming up…

but hey, at this point I won’t complain.

That's in part why I wanted to see Northern Iowa on Sunday
I’m not sure DePaul is going to be much of a test, and it’s not ideal to play four cupcakes and then top ten Purdue. but we’ll see.

that's the number Kentucky had against Sam Houston.
I know it means nothing, but since it’s there, why not?
by David Hooper on Nov 20, 2009 5:14 PM EST up reply actions
Everywhere where I say Huber, replace with Hubert.
I was misunderstanding them.
by David Hooper on Nov 20, 2009 5:17 PM EST up reply actions
I didn't see this game either
But this team is already looking a lot more like the ‘07 version of bruceball than its uglier ’08 cousin. This team appears to be a covering machine.
1) We go 10-deep, so Pearl really can’t call off the dogs, and so
2) We just keep scoring.
I love it.
