A "surprise" for Eric Berry in the works against Kentucky
Well this sounds like it could be fun.
Lane Kiffin told Berry that he's got a surprise for Berry Saturday (duplicate link from earlier this morning), but he refused to elaborate. What could it be? A few possibilities:
- Letting him play a game roaming at safety, hawking for record-breaking interception return.
- A snap or two at QB.
- A box of Power T chocolates.
- A pallet of red Skittles.
- A goldfish.
- A pet cow, horse, or bumblebee, to scare him into returning for another year. (Eric Berry is afraid of livestock and bees; no kidding.)
What would you give Eric Berry for his last regular season game?

Just remind him:
(a) which teams are looking at the top 5-10 picks and how few of those are traded to decent teams, and
(b) it’s the second NFL contract that sets you up for life…
(just don’t remind him that it’ll look exactly the same next year)
I floated this idea to my friend earlier:
“Hey Eric, see the NFL standings recently? Yeah, the Browns suck. You know they’d pick you if you go out this season. Why don’t you wait a year and see if they get any better.”
Simulated Gameday Experience - just like the real thing, only we have smoke machines.
Kiffin's going to let EB
run Smokey out onto the field. He’ll let him return the kickoff, snap the ball to himself, hand the ball off to himself, block downfield for himself, and score. Kick the extra point (cause Kiffin says he’s a terrible holder). Kickoff. Make the tackle. Place free safety. Get a pick six for 25 yards (for good measure) and take the rest of the day off.
Too much?
Nah.
When does he pass to himself?

Fulmer already gave him that surprise.
It was called: 2008

Thank You
Just a big thank you for reminding me what it was like the last time we had a player (Peyton Manning) that generates such excitement when he’s on the field (how much more miserable would last year have been without EB playing). Then I would give EB Peyton’s cell number and let Berry call and ask him if he regrets coming back to the University of Tennessee for his senior year.

I just want him to break that record.
I’m biased, but a player of Berry’s caliber deserves to be at the top of the line on some page in the record books.
