The SEC Championship Game

When Tennessee and Auburn played earlier this season many Alabama fans really struggled with picking a team for which to root.  For us, Tennessee and Auburn represented a "Meteor Game", and looking at this Saturday's SEC Championship in Atlanta, I'm sure Tennessee fans probably feel similarly.  Many of you hate the Gators and will normally root against them, and many of you hate Alabama so much that you always root against them regardless of the opponent.  I am curious to know, though, which team will you guys (as well as Tennessee fans) be rooting for Saturday?

Florida?  Alabama?  Or would you rather see a gigantic meteor crash into the stadium and wipe out both teams?

I'm rooting for the meteor

Bama is a bigger rival, but Florida is a more obnoxious rival. Also, they won last year, and two years in a row would make them even more of a more obnoxious rival. So I’ll reluctantly be puling for Bama. It helps that we got a lot closer to beating Bama; it’s better to say that we were a blocked field goal from beating the SEC Champ than the SEC Runner-up.

Ideal scenario: Bama wins, but wins ugly. Nebraska upsets Texas, and TCU beats Bama in the MNC.

I'll be rooting for

A good, hard fought game and another SEC National Championship. Though, if Bama winning sends Urbie to Notre Dame … ;-)

Im gonna go out on a limb, but Bama here

I come from a split family – with my father being a vols fan and my mother a bama fan. I fell on the Vol side, but will root for bama as long as they arent playing the Vols. This is especially easier with the east/west conference split now. The third saturday in october has never been a fun time in my family. 3 tvs, 3 separate rooms.

Also, in my lifetime, the gators have been more of a headache than the tide.

I could go either way

My father’s theory last year was that he disliked both teams equally, but he had a much longer history of dislike with Alabama, thus he rooted for Florida.

I grew up in a different time, so I tend to despise Florida more. But then I had an ex who was a huge Alabama fan, so I gained a renewed anti-Alabama fervor when we broke up. I, like most Tennessee fans, am definitely torn.

Tebow is the factor that really tips the scales in my opinion. Yes, a disinterested observer would probably admit that he’s a great player and he seems like a genuinely kind human being. However, I am unbelievably tired of the media finding new ways to pander to him and Urban every week. And I find his…umm…“medical” activities in the Phillipines sort of disturbing. The lovefest needs to end immediately.

My thoughts exactly minus a history with a Bama girlfriend.

Plus in my opinion Florida has had entirely too much recent success both in Basketball and Football. It’s a little ridiculous. Thus just to bring them back down to earth I hope they lose. On the other hand Bama has like 6 or 8 or 12 or 58 championships already ….so…I’ll be pulling for the meteor.

Bama, definitely

Although the meteor is an appealing option, for practical purposes I’ll have to root for the Tide. While many in my generation consider the Gators our biggest rival, I’m a bit more old school. That said, I also feel an odd sort of hate-respect for Bama which I don’t for Florida—they’re our original rival (and this season only helped renew some hate).

While I hate both, I don’t think I could stomach 3 NCs in 4 years. Roll Tide. I would also be just fine with a meteor hitting Tim Tebow.

Florida

just because I think they would beat Texas… not sure about Alabama. But other than that, I could care less. I hope it’s a good game

To be or not to be healthy??

Does anyone know what the outlook is on us having everyone healthy for our bowl game?? Just wondering cuz I know our defense has taken a hit lately and I’m just hoping that everyone is healthy so we can really stomp VT at the Chick Fil A Bowl.
