- Eric Berry, who's one of 12 semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award and one of 15 semifinalists for the Chuck Bednarik Award, is not worried about breaking the interception return record because he's grading out higher this season than last (duplicate link).

- Tennessee beat Lincoln-Memorial last night 97-58, forcing the Railsplitters into 30 turnovers, limiting themselves to only 17, and outrebounding the opponent 48-34. Scotty Hopson, who scored 20 points in the first exhibition game, scored 20 again last night on 7-9 shooting. He looks thicker and appears to be more aggressive this season.
