Rocky Top Talk better blog site then Alligator Army?
I have to admit, RTT enages the mind, and no offense to AA plus my fellow Gators who blog there, but its lifeless.
RTT is always buzzing with interesting threads and great insights from their bloggers. On a consistent basis RTT has 25-50 interesting comments under every front page posts. Even the Fan Posts generates huge threads. Mean while my home AA barely ever gets any booming threads. Of course there is the 5-10 regulars who comment and give out interesting opinions, but the only booming threads is when opposing fans come there to rub it in when something bad happened to the Gators. I'll used to spend an hour trying to write a creative Fan Post and get the best research Google would allow, but recently I have no motivation because nobody cares there. (boohoo)For awhile I was writing a weekly thread on every Gator alums success they had that week in the NFL. I bet if someone here did a post like that with the UT alums it would inspire some jabber. So my question is...why is Rocky Top Talk always rockin, while Alligator Army is barely talkin!

That's the Joy of SBNation:
You have access to some very high quality stuff all around the board. I read Alligator Army about every day, or check it at least — I don’t comment there too much. I’ve recently been hanging around rollbamaroll.com, since they’ve also got a thriving community.
Also, we do usually talk about the Vols in the NFL, though not a week-by-week usually. This year is pretty awesome, with Peyton Manning and Robert Meachem dominating on the best two teams in the NFL right now.

Meachem dominating
really?
I could dominate at WR for the Saints.
not really, but you get the point.

Did you see
That “give me back that Drew Brees Interception, Fool!!!” play? He’s been on a particularly impressive tear as of late, Meachem has.

Thanks, Hook
I really just thought you were a troll at the beginning of the season. But it’s become clear that that’s not the case. Glad to have you hanging around and interacting with the community.
As far as RTT vs. AA, I’m not sure? Has RTT been around longer? That could be it. Also, RTT has three authors, which helps boost the amount of content and draw more people. Those are my only initial thoughts. I do know that almost every online SEC community I’ve been to has been very Vol-dominated. I don’t know if that’s self-selection (me being a Vol fan) or if UT fans are just more apt to get involved in these things for whatever reason.

Yea I dont know why
AA only has one author. I wouldnt want to do it…lol,(not that I could either) but I dont see him offering. I am sure someone woud be interested.
"Why does bottled water have an expiration date?"
You know the saying, "It's the journey, not the destination"
What has Florida had to talk about over the past couple of years? How great they are and how super Tebow is? That’s great initially, but after a while… maybe it’s just more interesting when you’re the hunter instead of the hunted.
What you're seeing is team spirit. It's like the Holy Spirit, but more powerful.

Good point
Ive realized when I make a legit fan post, no one seems to care. When I make a semi-opinionated questionable fan post, everyone has something to say.
"Why does bottled water have an expiration date?"
every time i see that "hank hill" comment i can't help but laugh
he might have gone a little too far with that comment but everyone knows where his heart is :)

RTT isn't a fair comparison
this site churns out more content than most of the SB nation blogs ever dream about, not to mention that it is generally content much higher quality than else where. there are other sites who get bigger comment section explosions, but from the admin side you are going to be hard pressed to find a better crew than Will, Joel and Hooper.
The Dual Threat, Official Enforcer/Stat Geek of MCM.
there are some really good blogs on SBN and some not so good blogs
I think the Braves blog is really good.
Agree...
It’s better in the offseason, though. The game threads are not nearly as fun as they used to be; that comes with more people, though, I suppose.
"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone." The Tampa Bay Rays
has GREAT info, but the people and authors there are stat snobs, if you dont agree with sabrmetrics you wont enjoy the atmosphere. But for inside trades, and great stat sheets on thier farm team, I dont think it could get better.
I got kicked off for bad grammar. i.e. didnt agree with the lead author.
"Why does bottled water have an expiration date?"
we are simply better
better program better coaches better players and-
better fans
don't go too far now, we flawda boys are refering to the quality of this site....RTT
will, joel, and hooper are quality individuals who are doing things the right way. and i enjoy reading their posts and seeing their points of view. i grew up in Jax, FL, and now reside in NWFl and we have a mixture of every sec schools fan bases here (along with a huge FSU fan base). some of my best friends and business associates are from rival programs and we all love to dig at one another about each others teams but we all try to do it with respect. this is what impressed me the most about this site’s crew. there are other sites where this is not so, for example GVXtra, just read fan comments on that site and you’ll see, anything goes. all that said i also agree with zoltar, if UF was down i bet our blogs would really pick up steam.

but honestly
joel, will, and hooper do a hell of a job for us vol fans
Wait, Alligator Army is the Florida SBN blog?
I thought it was Team Speed Kills. ;) </joke from two months ago>
Simulated Gameday Experience - just like the real thing, only we have smoke machines.
I only figured that out a few days ago
You're full of crap.

Its funny
because they try to hard to get of that stigma, they actually prefer to talk against the Gator. Notice how they were never ranked number 1 in the blog poll all season. Even this site at one time had them at number 1.
"Why does bottled water have an expiration date?"
RTT is currently a much better blog and community than AA
I think some a lot of us Gators lazily, proudly claim Orson Swindle as our primary representative and don’t get too involved elsewhere.
