I suppose I’ll be relegated to radio.

Me too

Won’t have to deal with this much longer…Tuesday’s game with Wyoming is on ESPNU, and then the NCA&T and Charlotte games are back on CSS. Everything else should be more accessible

by Will on Dec 11, 2009 7:09 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

CHARLOTTE is on CSS?

That should be a huge game against a solid team (in between Memphis and Kansas). And we won’t be able to see it? Lame!

So the radio broadcast is advertizing how good UT fans "switch to Dish"

I have Dish and can’t watch the UT/MTSU game. It’s on Comcast/Charter only. Bitter irony.

In completetly random news

I was texted the news that my cousin has just quarterbacked Buford high School to the Georgia AA State Championship. I don’t know if he’s on our radar at all, but he’s heard a lot from South Carolina, Clemson, and Auburn.

Hey

That’s cool.

Name?

Alex Ross

Threw for only 1 TD in a 13-10 win, but we’ll take it.

You know who's smiling right now?

John Wall. We’re going to have to score at least 100 to beat them

by Will on Dec 11, 2009 7:19 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

But Yates is a big guy

At any rate, we’re going to have to play a heck of a game to beat UK. They’re solid this year. That said, Pearl vs. Cal has worked out well in the past.

by Incipient_Senescence on Dec 11, 2009 7:21 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I'm still concerned about our ability to stop one guy

We had this problem last year. The reason we beat Memphis in the 1 vs 2 game had a lot to do with defense (66-62), because Lofton and Juanny played it very well. Any chance we’re holding what looks like a similarly-talented UK team to 62 points this year?

by Will on Dec 11, 2009 7:23 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I'm similarly concerned

Pearl has really not had much success in general without Lofton and Juanny. But he’s only had one year to try, so I’m not calling for his head or anything. Just slightly nervous about our defense and perimeter game in general without these guys.

Nashville is a great venue for the SEC Tournament

simply because it’s smaller. The Georgia Dome feels cavernous for basketball, whereas in the Sommet Center (or whatever they’re calling it now), it feels right and the energy is much higher.

by Will on Dec 11, 2009 7:18 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I support this idea

It’s more neutral than Tampa too.

by Incipient_Senescence on Dec 11, 2009 7:19 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

You do not want to fight Tyler Smith

since it’s radio only, I’m making it more exciting in my head

by Will on Dec 11, 2009 7:33 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Have you heard anything from Hopson yet?

On the plus side, Prince had had a couple consecutive good possessions.

by Incipient_Senescence on Dec 11, 2009 7:37 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

He's missed two threes

which I think are the only shots he’s taken

by Will on Dec 11, 2009 7:39 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

He just made a block

And Prince continues with good possessions.

by Incipient_Senescence on Dec 11, 2009 7:40 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Brian Williams playing well too

4 points 3 rebounds, solid contribution again

by Will on Dec 11, 2009 7:43 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Yes

And we HAVE to stop Yates. What’s that? 16?

by Incipient_Senescence on Dec 11, 2009 7:44 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Yep

The whole team is deferring to him, which makes sense – following along on the box score, he’s taken 10 shots, next closest guy has taken 4

by Will on Dec 11, 2009 7:47 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

New Dollhouse episode on

Only three weeks left before the series gets canceled.

Given that I don’t have video anyways, I think I’m just going to trust that UT has the game in hand. Hopefully, that trust is not misplaced.

player nicknames

anyone know what some of the player nicknames might be? “boogie” is a good one for Yates…and UT has “wheezy” and “the solution”…anything else??

by the situation on Dec 11, 2009 8:25 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Woolridge is Swiperboy

They’ve used “The Neighborhood”, “The Death Star” and the obligatory “Big Baby” for Brian Williams

by Will on Dec 11, 2009 8:31 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

awesome

thanks man…keep up the good work

by the situation on Dec 11, 2009 8:48 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Oh, and Pajamas for J.P.

Goes back to Calipari (probably intentionally) referring to J.P. as “P.J.” prior to the 1 vs. 2 game that we won and Pajamas dominated.

Of course, that’s just my pet name for him. No one else calls him that. But they should. ;-)

CHI$$LE!

Somehow, I don’t see us getting to use this as much this season, which saddens me

by Will on Dec 11, 2009 8:33 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

This really sucks

I hate Comcast. And cable generally. Why is this not available?

Yeah

If it wasn’t so cold out, I’d go hang out with Jackson.

Anybody seen or heard from Kenny Hall tonight?

He’s got no stats and I don’t recall hearing his name…wondering if he’s been pulled from the rotation

You're the only one who studies for finals

That Stanford RB just showed up, then took off to Epcot with the stalker and the awards show. That’s how finals should be treated.

Looks like Prince has had a nice game tonight.

And 2 of their starters have 4 fouls apiece. That’ll make any comeback really tough.

by Hooper on Dec 11, 2009 8:48 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

We've tightened up on Yates considerably

he was 7 of 10 with 16 points. Now he’s 8 of 16 with 18, only one bucket in the second half.

by Will on Dec 11, 2009 8:49 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Prince hits a three

but with no visual proof, I remain skeptical

by Will on Dec 11, 2009 8:53 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

lol

Generally, I’d be right there with you, but the surprise in Kesling’s voice convinced me.

Do you suppose it's possible . . .

. . . to cut John Ward’s natural gas commercials into individual words and paste them together for a modern broadcast?

Might be worth the effort.

Tennessee wins 75-54

Now 7-1 on the year, back in action Tuesday night against Hooper’s Wyoming Cowboys. Recap coming.
