RTT Podcast tonight at 9:00 EST with Virginia Tech blog Gobbler Country
After last week's hiatus, we'll be cranking up the RTT Podcast again tonight at 9:00 EST with our special, extraordinarily early discussion of Virginia Tech and the Chick-fil-a Bowl. Frankly, we're doing it already because Will can hardly contain himself. Okay, he can't contain himself and he's got the carpet cleaner to prove it.
Joining us tonight will be furrer4heisman from Gobbler Country, SB Nation's fine Virginia Tech blog. I want to ask him what his screen name means and whether he really thinks maroon and orange is an appropriate color combination.
If you have questions you want us to ask or topics you'd like us to discuss, leave them below.
Apparently, Talkshoe's having issues with their Flash widgets, so we've swapped it out for a linked picture. Click on that thing and follow your nose.

VOLS on New Year's Eve
How many of the RTT contingent are making the trip to Atlanta? I know Will said he was going. One of the more organizational folks ought to research a sports bar within walking distance of the Georgia Dome where we and like-minded folk can watch UT/Memphis.

Are you going to belly up to the Cowboy Bar
in J-Hole or are you heading out into the wilderness?
Ball, oskie, cover, block, cut and slice, pursue and gang tackle... for this is the WINNING EDGE.

Wilderness.
J-Hole (nice one, btw) is a little bit out of the way. I’ll be in Casper and Thermopolis, mostly.
I was just having this conversation with someone today
They’ll do a FanFare event at the Georgia World Congress Center next door, for anyone who’s been to the SECCG/CFA Bowl/SEC Bball Tournament before and is familiar. But I’m not sure if that’ll be the best viewing environment or not. We talked about the area around the CNN Center – there’s a place down there that’s supposedly the official hosting area for the fans from the SEC team, with ACC team fans going elsewhere…we’ll keep an eye out.
Sweet
I just did some cursory glancing online, and it looked like the CNN Center area may be the best place anyways. Dad has to work on the 30th and the 1st, so we’ll be driving in on New Year’s Eve and out that night or early the next morning. We will, however, be there (by design) well in time to see UT/Memphis. If we leave early enough, we may be able to catch Stanford/Oklahoma. That’s one of the more intriguing matchups of bowl season, imo. Anyways, keep an eye out, and let us know what’s going on. It’d be great to:
1. find a place to watch it
2. find a place to watch it with other Vol fans.

You'll have plenty of options at CNN Center
It has both a Taco Mac, which is a standard sports bar with a ridiculous beer selection (don’t know if you have them in Knoxville, haven’t seen one in my time there) and there’s a Dantanna’s, which is a little bit of an upscale sports bar. Around the corner, there’s also a STATS, which is similar to Dantanna’s. All three are sure to have the game on. The last two have better food and are a little more pricey. If you’re a beer junkie, Taco Mac is the place to go.
Anyway, I’m not exactly sure what my deal is, except for that I’m going to the game. I might watch the basketball game at home, since I live in town, but if I go down there to watch it, I’ll be sure to go where you guys do.
That's the one I was thinking of

I shan't be there
so make sure to unleash Hell upon the Hokies.
Based on my past experiences in ATL, the area around the CNN center is a good place to meet up. There are a couple of sports bars with ample seating (at least there were about 6 years ago) within drunken walking distance.
If you feel like cabbing it (or the MARTA), go to the Viriginia Highlands and post up at Fontaines. Good place. Or you can roll the dice and go to Buckhead. Not my cup of tea but if you like it wild, have at it.
