Last year I would have loved to have this, but...
being on the other side now, this would be disastrous! No way would I want to play Florida again. But aside from the personal concerns, having this kind of playoff would seriously detract from the atmosphere of a game like the SEC championship the past two years.
What you're seeing is team spirit. It's like the Holy Spirit, but more powerful.

It would, to an extent
But think about the air around a rematch in January.

Are the at-large teams determined by ranking?
Only two teams per league? I’m wondering about LSU. Seems like a “fair” playoff system shouldn’t penalize the third team in a conference if they were ranked highly.
I like the idea, but I wouldn’t want to play Florida again either.
"So I want everybody to think here for a second, how much does this game mean to you? 'Cause if it means something to you, you can't stand still. You understand? You play fast! You play strong! You go out there and dominate the man you're playing against, and you make his ass quit! That's our trademark! That's our M.O.... as a team! That's what people know us as!" - Coach Nick Saban before the 2008 LSU game.

Well
My argument to that is that if you’re not one of the best two teams in your conference, you’ve lost your shot. If 3 teams can go from one conference, that really cheapens the regular-season deal.
