I am so sick of people telling me that we did not sell out a game this year
its not true, and i am getting sick of hearing it. the people over at GVX are convinced that we have not sold out a single home game...when in fact we have sold out the UCLA, Auburn, Georgia, and Vanderbilt games. i attribute this knowledge to the fact that people dont know that the stadium capactiy is now at 100,011. Because of this reduced capacity, the days of 109,000 orange clad folks stuffed in neyland are likel over. I just had to get this out of my system, sorry if it sounded like i was ranting a little bit. once the economy gets back to normal and folks can afford to eat and buy gas, we will get back to selling out every single game, just like we did as soon as 2007.

To further drive your points...
Consider that we are one of the smaller (smallest with 100k+ seating in the nation) SEC schools with the largest stadium. With fewer Alums to buy tickets already, the downturn only makes it harder to fill.
Also, the up and down season does not help when trying to recover from the lull that was UT football for the last few seasons.
Umm...
Weren’t tickets still available from the box office right up until kickoff of every home game? (I don’t actually know the answer to this, but I know I was able to purchase tickets to a couple of games on the day of the game.)
Regardless of the announced attendance numbers or what the stadium looked like, I would think “sellout” would mean all the tickets were sold. Did we actually sell out any home games this year by that definition?

Yeah
I know for sure that we sold out the Georgia game. I’m pretty sure the Auburn game was too. Don’t know about the other two though. I know I got my Vanderbilt tickets four days before the game.
Florida Sucks!
to answer your point
yes, all four games were listed as “sellouts”, yet UT has always found a way to sell more tickets even though technically there are no seats left ( look at last year, 106,000 folks watched UT play florida in a stadium that held 102,000). Despite whether the stadium is “sold out” or not, I have found that there is always another ticket into neyland, even when technically none should exist.
