Kiffin on pumping gas, evaluation of players

What got my attention was the assertion that Alshon himself denied that Kiffin made any gas-pumping comment. I had to miss the show today, but I have a favor to ask if you (a) heard it, or (b) are willing to hear it: let me know what was said.

After 7ish tonight, the Sports Animal will update the broadcast archive. I don't know which segment it'd be in, but you can find them here if you didn't catch it earlier. Again, I'm just curious. It's no biggie if nobody catches it.

I heard it

It was on my way home from work 3:10-3:30ish. Kiffin did say that he called Alshon put him on speaker phone with some other coaches there and asked him about it and Alshon denied making the comment.

Other notes…

Kiffin said he was real impressed with Gerald Jones Tuesday saying he was “the MVP of practice”

He said Brandon Warren made two really great plays but he still has some learning to do at the WR position. The potential is there however.

Jacques McClendon was ill the other day, thats why he was held out of practice. He tried but his temperature kept rising.

Also Kiffin is calling for anyone ANYONE in Knoxville that can throw a football to come to walk-ons. They are really trying to get some depth at QB, they even tried the holder (can’t remember his name) in some drills yesterday.
