March Madness? This Is Sparta!

By the numbers...

8 - players foul out

67 - mins played by one player (Flynn)

3 Hours and 46 mins long - total elapsed time of game

93 - combined free throw attemps

244 - Total points scored

The Big East Quarterfinals tonight was 6 overtimes of redonkalous Maddness!  Anyone stay up and watch this game?  Syracuse gets mad retarded and wins last night then turns right around tonight and wins a 6 OT MAD fest.  Oh and then have to get up in a few more hours and do it all over again with West Virgina.  Check out the stupid box score...

I like how they gave up on the "minutes played" stat in the box score

I know Flynn played 68 minutes, and Syracuse had a walk-on on the floor for overtimes five and six with four players fouled out. It’s no exaggeration to say that’s the best basketball game I’ve ever seen, even if I’m paying for it this morning along with several thousand others who are dragging into work.

Man, I wish I hadn't missed that.

Sounds fun, one of those games that’s exciting even if you have no rooting interest in it.

Me too

Someone messaged me and said they were in 3rd OT as I was going to sleep, and I brushed it off as, “whatever, 3OT? I’ll go to sleep since its gonna be over soon, its not going to last much longer, right?”

Woke up to find 6OT. Gah.

now with less meyton panning.

UConn was involved

So we had a rooting interest – I was wildly into the ‘Cuse and very happy they finally pulled away. It can’t be stressed enough that Syracuse didn’t lead in any of the overtimes until the sixth one. Amazing.

Good point about UConn

And there’s the orange, too.

I was up late working on an English Paper

Went to check ESPN to make sure I had the time right for tonight’s game, saw The ‘Cuse and Huskies matched up in 5OT affair. I was like "Holy [fulmerized] they are in five OT’s??"

I felt a duty as a sports fan to watch the end of it.

It's times like these

When I entertain thoughts of upgrading my cable service to include ESPN Classic.
