The details of this matchup may be found here. The quick summary is this: if UT can minimize Ball State's perimeter game and avoid the mental mistakes that have hurt them this year, they can win this one going away. But a strong 3-point team always has a fighting chance. UT fans should know.
GO LADY VOLS!!!

My all-time favorite sentence on this blog:

I always confuse them
with the Catamounts…who are somebody else.

The announcers are going to sell this as a potentially epic upset as long as it's close
(or if BSU is ahead like they are now)…and that’s the price we pay for being Tennessee. Not sure what to think about this one.
got ice on her knee
and apparently our trainers have unconventional methods

29-28 Ball State at the half, if you're catching up
largest lead either team has been 5 points, it’s sloppy with shooting and turnovers (9 for the Ladies)
I'm worried our young kids
(and without Cain) aren’t going to be able to respond to this well.
Classic shot of the Lady Vol fans in the crowd, all looking like they’re in a movie they want to walk out of.

They're shooting 35%.
BSU isn’t much better (43), but they have shot 35 (6/17) from 3 and we’ve shot 11% (1/9).
We're getting outhustled, and they're getting kindness from the rim
that we’re not enjoying. It’s easy to understand Ball State playing with this much intensity…win or lose, this is going to be an educational experience for these girls.
That's what the radio guy said too.
Visual?

we got the steal
and then she put her head down and took one dribble…the BSU girl just awkwardly took a half step into her path in the middle of the court and then falls down, she’s not making a play on the ball or denying any sort of path to the basket

They need
to make that stuff a point of emphasis for next year, men and women…EVERYBODY is taking charges instead of playing defense
Scratch that.
Make it a technical foul for flopping.

Hey
we’re about four minutes away from football season
by Will Shelton on Mar 22, 2009 11:04 PM EDT up reply actions
And that would be really hard to enforce
But I’m very much in favor of the idea
by Will Shelton on Mar 22, 2009 11:05 PM EDT up reply actions
True.
I didn’t mean that hitting them all would make a difference. But it’d be a lot better.

These Ball State kids are playing out of their minds
sprinting downcourt after they hit a shot…surprised they’re shooting this well with all this adrenaline
You know that day of classes that they lost because they had to play in the first round of the SEC tourney?
They’re going to get it back.
Hopefully this lowers expectations for next year
Which are then easily exceeded. It’ll be a new coaching experience for Pat
I wish this dips___ would shut up about this being one of the biggest upsets in history.
They were a 5 seed.
A nice compliment from him at the end
Being as I’ve never heard of this guy before, I’m sure he was a little over the top on the moment…he did set the record for use of the word “vaunted” in describing one team in a single game
