In many ways, these teams are opposites. UT has one starting senior (well, one senior period), while Florida starts 2 seniors and 3 juniors and 2 juniors and 1 freshman --ed. UT is looking to start an entire 6-foot plus lineup, while Florida will have nobody over 6 feet starting. Yet Florida is a pretty good rebounding team, in large part due to their experience.
Expect Florida to try to speed the game up and try to get UT out of rhythm. Tennessee needs to start with control and consistency, and try to dictate the flow of the game. The key will likely be 6'6" Kelley Cain, for whom the Gators literally have no answer. But regarding Cain, watch for Florida numbers 13 and 42, who are 6'4" freshman Azania Stewart and 6'3" senior Aneika Henry, respectively. Those are the only two who have a prayer of containing Cain tonight; if they can't do it, they UT will absolutely own the interior and should look to take advantage of it all night long.
Otherwise, watch Angie Bjorklund. She has to feel disappointed after her zero point, four foul outing against Alabama. UT needs her to be confident in herself when the NCAA tournament comes around, and tonight is the best possible night to build that confidence.
This one is big; a win here will go a long way towards building the Lady Vols' confidence in their tournament play and prove to them that they can win 2 tourney games in one weekend.
GO LADY VOLS!!!

Roster Update for Florida:
Lucas is a probable starter – a 5’8" freshman guard. She adds some rebounding potential, based on the numbers.
Sounds like a good UT crowd at the arena.
At least, that’s how it seems on the radio. I don’t think I’ll get visual for tonight’s game.
Fox SS
Has decided to show a Hawks @ Bobcats NBA game rather than the SEC tourney. Really? :( I call lame!
Florida's press has been effective so far.
UT has to learn to not use such long passes against it; the shorter players are reacting too quickly.
I have to step out for a while.
I’ll be back, but probably after halftime. Still, I’m happy for the 10-point lead right now.
WOO!
Back again.
No halftime stats. I’m still waiting to hear the score, but things sound like UT’s up, based on Mickey’s tone of voice.
Still, it's a slow start for the second half.
Only 2 points with over 4 minutes played. Sounds like how they start first halves.
Discombobulation. Again.
Just when you think they’re over it, they remind you.
But still, things are much, much better.
Bjorklund's a favorite of mine, of sorts.
My first Lady Vols game was the Arkansas game at TBA last year. Bjorklund absolutely went off on them, scoring a lot of 3-pointers as the Ladies won by something around 100-50ish.
A lot of the missed 3-pointers came in the final couple minutes.
Bjorklund was exhausted, but the team kept feeding her the ball to have her shoot more three’s. They wanted her to stockpile as many points as possible, but she was just too tired to shoot accurately anymore.
haha
“Apparently anything going to the rim is going to be called a charge so I’d pull up and take a jumpshot.”
UT has had a LOT of turnovers this half.
Wonder if it’s a function of the mental fatigue of 2 games in as many days.
It's almost like UT tries to be too complicated on offense.
They don’t have to play like last year’s team did. Just stick with the fundamentals, girls, and you’ll be fine.
Ok. Now I'm nervous.
Up until now, I’ve still been confident that they’ll win. But they really need to open this back up.
Fortunately, Florida is too jittery and turns it right back over.
35.8 seconds left and UT has the ball.
Ball is stolen and good for a final shot for Florida.
UT 71, UF 67. Summitt will have a lot to talk about.
