Bruce Feldman signs Meat Market in Nashville tonight, Knoxville Friday
Bruce Feldman is going to be at Davis-Kidd in Nashville at 7:00 tonight to sign copies of his book Meat Market, so if you're in the Nashville area be sure to stop by to milk Bruce for information on recruiting and All Things Ed Orgeron. Nobody but the Red Bull rackjobber knows DACOACHO better than Bruce. In the meantime, check out the RTT review of Meat Market and our exclusive interview of Bruce.
By the way, Bruce will be at the Barnes & Noble in Knoxville doing the same thing at 6:00 Friday. Never fear, we'll remind you Friday.

Wish I could go to this
But I just spent some money (that I don’t have!) on a photo of Eric Berry and Monte Kiffin that I want signed this weekend. I’m considering it an investment….
Although, it would be really cool to have a copy of Meat Market signed by the author and DACOACHO… hm…
Does that mean you'll get it signed, too?

If it gets here, yes
Bought a hardcover (used) on Amazon for like 11 bucks expedited. I’m hoping it gets here in time.
I'm hoping to be there too.
I just have a softcover. Getting it signed would obviously not add value or anything like that, but I’d like a chance to talk to the guy for a second.

I've never been to a book signing
Will it not add value because it is a softcover, or just because having a book signed doesn’t add value in general?
It's more beneficial for hardcovers.
Partly because hardcovers have more value and partly because softcovers tend to wear out faster.
Either way, you’re not adding any resale value unless you’re talking something like a 1st edition Hobbit signed by J.R.R. himself. Mostly, it’s a good way to meet an author, ask maybe a question or two, and have a little fun.
I was at a signing by Robert Jordan when I lived in Charleston, SC (that’s where he lives) to get a book signed for my sister. It was the penultimate book in his Wheel of Time series and had just come out. I still remember him telling everybody that if anybody asked who killed some specific character (evidently, some running plot device) that he would “punch them right in the snoot”.
For Feldman’s sake, I hope a lot of people show up. For my sake, I wouldn’t mind being the only one so I could monopolize his time. His timing’s great though; a book about O on the eve of the O&W in Knoxville is sure to draw interest.

I love Robert Jordan hoop!
I eagerly await Brandon Sanderson’s conclusion to the series.
Love me some Rand, Perrin, Mat, Egwene, Nynaeve, etc.
Nerd Alert.
Okay, moving on.
I finished Meat Market a few weeks ago. Not checked out of the library here in denver…doubt that would happen below the mason-dixon.
This book will get you so pumped up to be a Vol. Knowing that Ed O is part of our team with his work ethic and enthusiasm is really comforting to someone well outside the program and the state for that matter.
We have a chance with anyone now that Ed and the others are here.
Lots about Frank Wilson in the book…good stuff. You wont be disappointed.
I will leave you with Mr. Jordan’s opening paragraph from the Wheel of Time series…and i think it could be applied to the SEC:
“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose in [Knoxville]. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.”
So you know which character was murdered, then.

They actually kill someone off that's not a tertiary character?
I could rant about WoT for days. That being said, I haven’t read book 11 and I’m not sure I feel bad about it.
Speaking of series that won’t need, I need to find the George R. R. Martin series.

I'll be honest
The Rand storyline doesn’t appeal that much to me, ever since he got out of Tear in like book, what, 4? 5? Yeah, book 3 he conquers .. I dunno, I can’t remember which.
The fight with Pippin Perrin in the Shire Two Rivers was awesome though, and I’m really liking the storyline with the Seanchan. They are such an interesting race, and Tuon is on BAMF. That and the Egwene storyline is really picking up!

That would probably be who killed Asmodean.

That's the name!
Never read them myself.

Oh, THAT's what you meant.
I didn’t realize you hadn’t read the books, I thought you were saying someone major gets killed off. That is never the case with a book he wrote, much to my chagrin. When you start a book off with 8 main characters, add a character each book, and don’t kill any of them, it gets hard to advance a plot when you get, oh, 10 books in.

Well, he acted like Asmodean's death was a big deal.
So I just figured it was. But yes, I’m absolutely clueless about the series otherwise.
And hey, not everybody can handle a brigade of characters as well as Tolstoy.

Well, it's more the mystery
A “teacher” type person (Asmodean) to the main character (Rand) goes to get something from a closet right after a major battle. He opens the door and boom he’s dead, but not before a look of recognition passes over his face and he goes “You!”

wotmania.com has a great theory section
here . Personally I think it was Graendal. And you think you’re a nerd? Have you played a WoT-themed online text based game for several years because you love the world so much?
I’m a level 196 warder, fear me.
