I guess he wasn't happy with his being moved from DL to OL.
I think all of the “dismissals/quittings” can be summed up thusly:

I see it all as natural growing pains. It’s too bad for Langley that he wasn’t able to make things work. I wish him the beset of luck going forward.
Another quick note about practice
Pro Style QB Blake Bortles (there are so many awesome qbs named Blake this year!) and OL Dan Koenig (both from Florida) were at practice today.
In other news, the QBs really struggled today. Someone said that Crompton threw 3 interceptions in a row… followed by the other two throwing a combined 4 (immediately after). This was in 11 on 11 work. Hopefully they were installing a new part of the offense :S.
rec'd, lol

With that performance, UT had to have moved up Bortles's list.
7 INTs with a visiting QB recruit? o.O

I'm not sure
From what I initially understood with the situation, I think it’s kind of irrelevant what they are “officially” calling it. He was moved to OL, and he was not happy about this move. So, I’m thinking he either quit because he wanted to play DL, and the coaches said no… or he just quit coming to practice / giving effort / whatever, and was dismissed.
Funny, in a way.
As a player, Coach O left LSU because they wanted to move him from D-Tackle to O-Guard.

Donald quit, he did not just stop coming to practice. He showed up and gave his all and he took one for the team when they moved him to OL with no other explanation besides they were lacking depth. You have to at least give someone incentive to make a move like that besides we need the depth. Donald gives 110% effort wherever he is and he will give that in whatever he does in the future. He is a good kid and and awesome football player and it is too bad that tennessee could not figure that out
It's also my understanding that his mother passed away last Fall
That’s some really tough stuff. As I said earlier, I wish him the best of luck going forward.
yes, his mother did pass away in November. She was his biggest fan and it has been hard for him losing his mom. He loves tennessee. Its was a very difficult decision and it did not come lightly, he contemplated it for several weeks. He will do well where ever he lands and its a shame that the coach who left his school in college for the same reasons didnt try harder to keep him around. They seem to e losing a lot of players that are quit good.
