Not missing a beat Kiffin said "Well, you can tell she is a Florida Gator, she's been drinking all day." Making mention of the beer in her had. Again laughter from everyone including her. The funniest part was as soon as he said it turned to look at the cameras at the side of the room and said "Aw man, they got me again."

Hmmmm
“Coach Kiffin came in about ten minutes later to thunderous applause. Spoke for about five minutes on how to be successful and the need to surround yourself with people smarter than you, so that you will be challenged and not just agreed with etc. "
That was Bush’s management mantra was it not? Just sayin’.
No, I believe that was more of an Obama thing (said on the campaign trail many time) than Bush. Bush had people who agreed to similar ideas as his (Ie: Rove or Chaney), and then pretty much listened/did whatever they said. Anyways, this sounds like its just going to get in a bad political argument so I digress…
now with less meyton panning.

Wel . . .
I wouldn’t be surprised if both said something similar. I have a hard time believing Obama thinks there is someone smarter than himself.
;-)
But, I googled some of his political speeches and Bush definitely stated his management style was to hire smart people and listen to them.
Both said that.
I can remember well how people made a big deal about the think tank that Bush assembled in the ‘00 campaign/inauguration. Really, you could replace the word “Obama” with “Bush” in modern articles about how the president is surrounding himself with geniuses, and you would have those ’00 articles in front of you. I wouldn’t be surprised to read that meme in news archives for Clinton, Bush 1, Reagan, etc.
Iacocca was famous for saying the same thing when he ran Ford and Chrysler.
/politics … please?

I know . . . .
But seeing those comments, recalling those pols stumping and seeing same same outta coaches, made me laugh.
Gotta wonder when these guys find time to actually coach?
It's a pretty widely held philosophy, I think
Hiring people who are smarter than you, that is. And following that train of thought, there’s pretty much always somebody out there who’s smarter than you — or at least more knowledgeable than you about some area.
